---MY BIO(sort of) Written By: Me---
I was born in Elizabeth, NJ January 30th 1981 to two poor parents. I grew up as an artist drawing pictures and building with Legos. I always felt I was creative from the start and just not your typical kid. For instance I always favored adventure games compared to sports games like the rest of my friends and family.
I grew up on rock and roll because my father was a guitar player and he was a huge fan of Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix. I also took a liking to some of the artists he listened to. My mother was into the 60s Motown and 70s Disco and some 80s pop so between them both I got a lot of musical inspiration. When I started getting into my teenage years I began writing songs taking after my favorite hip hop artist, Nas. I liked his flow, style and lyricism and what he was making songs about just amazed me.
I used to sit and write songs down listening to the tapes over and over again just so I could practice my delivery. I didn't get too in depth with it because I was still into my drawing and making comic books.
It wasn't until 98 when me and my two cousins Axl Foley and Nicky Sparks formed our group 33 1/3 that I began to take it serious. I was rapping like Jay Z in his "Can I Get Open" and "I Can't Get With That" days.
Then I got into a more Prodigy(Mobb Deep)/Redman style. We did a few songs together on 8 track for the next 3 years establishing ourselves around the neighborhood as 3 artists with 3 different styles with 1 idea sounding nothing like the everyday rappers everybody was used to hearing.
In 2001 after I left Art school in Philadelphia I decided to drop drawing and go full time MC. I also dropped my old name, Ashez the White Owl and changed it to White Owl Bundy. I was a huge Married With Children fan and Al Bundy was the guy who closely resembled the way my life was going. I also changed my style from rapping sort of hardcore street stuff with a twist to just story telling and things nobody would dare rap about.
I pretty much stopped caring what people thought about me and have been that way ever since. In 2002 I started producing my own music because I couldn't find a producer to fit my style.
I was used to just making up songs out of thin air and making the beats on the spot with Fruityloops and some samples. Over time I got better and moved on to Cubase, Nuendo, Reason and Pro Tools. I play the keyboard a little bit and from time to time still sample if need be. Dr. Dre, Rza and Just Blaze are like my top influences as far as production. These days I'm just trying to work with anyone who takes their music seriously and not just looking for the 1 hit wonder status or just trying to use hip hop as a way of getting rich. If you're interested in working with me or hearing some things go to my myspace page at http://www.myspace.com/whiteowlbundy and become a fan of the Bundy Experience.
