The Video Games Show

Listen to The World Famous VGS!

About Me

VGS is a weekly audio show that will give you news, reviews and interviews about the console and handheld gaming industry. It's the project of three long time gamers that have accumulated over 60 years of game playing experience between them. And now, we're sharing our knowledge and experience with you.

The premise of this show is to give you, the consumer gamer, objective information about the latest things in the gaming industry. We give our honest opinions and thoughts on everything. You'll here whatever we think, whether we do or don't like something (you'll get the idea by listening to a few shows).

Our opinions won't be influenced by corporate relationships. Although we do like having relationships with the console and game manufacturers/producers, we won't let that relationship get in the way of our honest opinions. We hope you value our stance on this matter and appreciate the content in our shows for what they are, honest opinions and thoughts from gamers like you.

My Interests

Chris "Hoss" Neupert - Host

Hardcore gamer since: ? Favorite Genres: Action/Adventure, FPS, Sports and Unique Titles Favorite Game: Anything ..... well, almost anything .. Favorite System: PS2/GBA SP

I started out with my Coleco and then added the Atari 2600 attachment, and that was basically it. My hobbies now include playing Capcom's Fox Hunt and of course Psychic Detective, along with terrific hits like Half-Life & Red Faction. Oh, I like sports games as well!

Video games to me are an escape from the normal stressful days we experience. They can be your friend, enemy, and of course bring us many challenges. I love .. play although I am not that good at it, and for good reason, because I have to play a ton of games to review, so my focus isn't always on one game (except Metroid), thus hurting my skills. See the sacrifices I make for you!

.. play has been a favorite of mine since back in the Xband days (Xband was awesome). And I believe this is one of the big keys to the future of gaming. There is a time I believe when games will no longer need to be bought at the store, you can simply choose what game you want and then download it to your hard drive, all without leaving your living room. I grew up with video games and have seen them grow just like I have. I also look forward to see them progress even more in the future!

Rich "I'm the Alpha-male!" Bergin - Co-host
Hardcore gamer since: Age 5 Favorite Genres: FPS, Racing, Survival Horror Favorite Game: Metroid (Classic) & Battlefield 2 (Modern) Favorite System: Xbox 360

As a member of Video Games Show, I promise listeners that I will give them honest reviews, something that is becoming harder and harder to find within the industry. If I hate a game, you will hear the word "hate" come out of my mouth. I will not pad reviews for the sake of pleasing publishing companies in the hope that they will send me a hat or T-Shirt if I talk up their latest insult to the world of gaming. The only thing that matters to me is the listeners and giving them everything I can each week and then some.

I foresee the future of gaming to be all about .. play. No longer will people be satisfied with playing against the computer. Downloadable content will be a must as gamers will never be satisfied with a game that can not have add-ons. Soon the game console will be more like a computer then a gaming system. It will also be the center piece for the entertainment center, acting as a DVD player, a recorder, a receiver and an internet source.

Ariel McCollough - Marketing & Promotions Intern (aka Pimping the Show)
Hardcore gamer since: 5 Favorite Genres: RPGs, MMORPGs, Action/Adventure, Puzzle/Stratagies, Side-scrollers, Alternative Sports Favorite Game: Super Mario 3, Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross, Final Fantasy (I love them all), Street Fighter II Turbo, Soul Calibur 1-3, DOA 1-4, Baten Kaitos, Shadow of the Colossus, Fable, SSX3, All Harvest Moon games and Dragon Quest VIII Favorite System: None (I like all of them)

Playing video games has allowed me to live vicariously in the realms of fantasy and adventure. I grew up on the NES and have been playing games on most consoles to this day.

I grew up loving the Mario series as well as Metroid and Castlevania. I gradually began to fall for the epic story lines of the Final Fantasy series and RPGs like Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger and Zelda.

The future of gaming, I believe, will rely heavily on the .. element. I hope the game designers don't lose focus on making a well rounded game with charm to that of a game with just flashy graphics.

I'd like to meet:
