Obviously 4 Believers are...
A young and unique Indie/Blues band originally from Lancaster, with a set full of, "sleazy grinds"(High Voltage) and “raggedy rock†(ManchesterMusic) . Obviously 4 Believers have been hailed as “heroes in the making."
After playing consistently exciting shows from Glasgow to London, O4B are attracting the interest they deserve; headlining high profile venues such as Camden Barfly , and The Night n' Day Cafe as well as winning support slots for the likes of Little Man Tate, Team Waterpolo, The Envelopes, Performance and Rooney .
They have also received air time on both national and local radio stations (Xfm London, BBC Radio Lancashire and Lancaster Uni. Radio) and won a highly competitive Unsigned competition on Xfm Radio London.
We're trying to establish an original and fresh sound (while still playing music we love) and provide the listener with more interesting lyrics than most of the dross around now - touches of The Doors, Libertines, Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Kings of Leon etc. have been acknowledged from our live shows.
At the moment we're concentrating on raising the bands profile with a view to getting noticed by a record label, writing, recording and, obviously, also gigging as often as possible.
People think O4B are...
"A GREAT indie/blues band." Sarah Darling, Xfm Radio London
"Obviously 4 Believers are the sort of hard working band that we believe in here at Artrocker HQ. A sincere belief and sheer 'couldn't-care-less' attitude spouts from this high voltage blues band...drunken sleaze, off-kilter vocals [and] meandering guitars." Joe Gamp, Artrocker Magazine
"Melodic and jaunty...This band is a grower for sure."
Bugbear Bookings, London
"...a really strong distinctive sound.4/5." High Voltage, Manchester
"...as they get older, Mick and Keith will undoubtedly be looking for replacements and O4B could be the men for the job."
High Voltage, Manchester
"Heroes in the making." Howard Byrom, Lancaster Guardian
"True Rock n' Roll" Simon Jay Catling, AudioScribbler
"...beats the crap out of most current indie." www.coolnoise.co.uk
"....[their] bluesy nature sounds fresh against the current indie scene."
Grunion Records, New York
"The bands summery blend of pop and raggedy rock is attractive and sublime in all the nicest, possible ways."
Manuel Ecostos, Manchester Music
"Quality songs that have popular appeal as they mix up indie pop with Yardbirds' style blues. The best songs of the night."
Bluesbunny, Glasgow
"Summer music for young Lovers! A fine collection of interesting songs... fast and bouncy and lively. All their songs triggered something familiar deep in your psyche, a feeling, a mood, a deep-rooted primal remembrance of something long forgotten, but eternally sought after. "
Lancashire
"It makes a nice change that a band isn’t going down the ‘whatspopularinNME’ route and actually making some nice music."
Matthew Stanley, DieShellSuitDie
"O4B will put Lancaster on the new music map."
Sean McGinty, BBC Radio Lancashire
"Obviously 4 Believers are four fresh-faced and extremely pretty young lads with the sort of floppy hair and smiles that could win them a fanbase of the young and female variety even if they were rubbish, but thankfully theyre anything but. Theres a light sprinkling of blues and country twang to their friendly post-Britpop indie and a bit of endearing early Libertines shambling. Centrepiece of the set however is a self-described blues epic which seems to come in about six mini-movements, spiralling off through Gomez indie-blues to a frenzied, buzzsaw climax. They look like theyre enjoying it too."
Cath Aubergine, Manchester Music
