Chinell Zaminia Collins
[Born August 15,1986 ]
“It could’ve been me/ outdoors/ with no food/ and no clothes. All left alone/ without a friend; or just another number/ with a tragic end. But You [God] didn’t see fit/ to let none of those things be. And everyday by your power/ you keep on, keep on keeping me. I wanna say thank you, Lord, for all you’ve done for me.” ~ Walter Hawkins
This is one of Chinell Collins’ favorite songs, because she realizes its truth more and more each day. ____________________________________________________________ ____
At age fifteen, Chinell joined Bethany Baptist Church in Lindenwold, NJ. It wasn’t long before she was introduced to Bethany’s L.Y.N.X (Lyrics You’ve Never eXpected) Ministry. It was in that ministry that Chinell learned how to use her gift to glorify God. Even though this was a fairly new ministry at the time, Chinell received a lot of support from her family, church family and her Pastor, Bishop David G. Evans. Bethany’s youth pastor, Rev. Ronald Walker, and Bethany’s Executive Pastor, Rev. Nick Smith, would allow Chinell to come out and minister her poetry when they were asked to preach at different churches. And Chinell’s mother, father, and older sister would help out with ministry supplies and accompany her to her speaking engagements; they still do those things to this day.
Since then, Chinell has released four booklets of poetry for teens (2001). She has recorded One album, “Promised” (2005), which is being sold in various Christian bookstores, online, and being played on the radio in Cleveland, Ohio; Camden, NJ; and Baltimore, Maryland. And she is currently awaiting the release of her New DVD, “Hindsight” (2007).
Chinell has ministered in many different arenas with very gifted people, but her JOY comes from seeing people get saved and seeing lives being transformed by God’s word, and her words. Chinell is not just a stage minister, but she also is an evangelical counselor; a faithful member of Bethany’s teen outreach ministry; and the founder of one of the fastest growing organizations on Widener University’s campus, The IMPACT Campus Ministry (formed Jan. 2005). IMPACT is a ministry dedicated to bringing all of the aspects of church to a college campus. Over 90 souls have been saved through the ministry.
____________________________________________________________ ____ Outside of the ministry, Chinell is a senior at Widener University where she is studying psychology, and currently on the dean’s list. She is very close to her family, and her extended family which also includes her best friends and her three god-children. Chinell has been working with kids for the past nine years because she understands that they are the future. Chinell is generally shy and genuinely happy. One of her favorite scriptures is Psalm 139:14. She has had many trials from suffering from self esteem to suffering from abuse, BUT!!! God is her strength…He is her Joy. And all she can say is “Thank you!”
Thank you for supporting her ministry!
Love to all and God Bless.

Isaiah 55:10-11 10 For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return there until they have watered the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, 11 so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and succeed in the thing for which I sent it.
