Kussondulola

2007 marca o lançamento do novo trabalho de originais da primeira banda de reggae nacional. “Madié” consiste num projecto de inspiração em alguns sucessos nacionais dos anos 80, com arranjos e letras originais da autoria de kussondulola.Musicalmente, a banda continua a desenvolver o género Kilapangasembareggae, (Kilapanga – ritmo tradicional da África Bantu; Semba -música urbana angolana; Reggae - folclore da Jamaica), a que se junta toda a influência musical da lusófonia (Guitarra Portuguesa, Berimbau, Surdo, Cuica). Ao nível da composição dos temas, “Madié” reflecte a existência do Homem, da origem da Criação aos dias de hoje. Com arranjos e letras originais da autoria de kussondulola, o projecto inspira-se em alguns sucessos nacionais dos anos oitenta, questionando a realidade da sociedade globalizada, geradora de desigualdades cada vez mais profundas, ponderando a ambição dos homens no Universo e o valor das suas acções, apontando a imbecilidade dos poderes instituídos e espalhando, como sempre faz Kussondulola, a mensagem de Amor e Fé!A TOUR DO MADIÉ já arrancou… Fiquem atentos!
It all started a long long time ago, in a far, faraway place. Somewhere over the land we now call Angola, a soba (tribal king) is crying. His tribe is on war, the enemys advancing.In the presence of tragedy, a hard and unavoidable decision takes place; the sobas pregnant wife will have to leave. The soba and his wife manage to reach a safe place, where the baby a girl is born in peace. The mother christens her baby child with a symbolic name; shell be named KUSSONDOLOLA, meaning changes, shifting.Alma (Soul) is the word to keep in mind while talking with Janelo da Costa, leader, author and composer of this reggae band, that plays original reggae songs (sang) in Portuguese. The band takes its name from that baby who has escaped tribal war, KUSSONDOLOLA. Janelo da Costa is that childs grandson.Janelo experiences reggae almost religiously, but with a smiling irony that keeps him detached from dogmas. Reggae, brotha, is soul stuff. Soul, obviously. KUSSONDOLOLAs name has a loyal guardian on this man.KUSSONDULOLA is not a trend, it is not news. It is spirit into music; a wish to tell whats going on around you.
