-------- “Same Old Story” are a four piece Powerpop / Punk band from the Hunter Valley and Newcastle area of NSW.“Same Old Story” formed in late 2005. For the last two years, “Same Old Story” have built a reputation in the Indie Powerpop scene for their punctuality, emotion and devotion to their music and fans. “Same Old Story” are influenced by, MXPX, Fall Out Boy, Alkaline Trio and Saves The Day.“Same Old Story” are passionate about their original music, their independence, and promoting safe and fun all age gigs for their fans.In 2006 “Same Old Story” barely spent a weekend offstage, playing to crowds all around the state. SOS also were honored to perform at both the 2006 Newcastle “Strike Back” festivals alongside “The Sleepy Jackson”, “Cog”, “Karnivool”, “Something With Numbers” and hundreds of other national and local bands.Over the last two years, “Same Old Story” have helped to form the core of “Teenage Kicks Productions”, to promote independent all age events in their surrounding areas, and to help network tours through the Newcastle and Hunter area. “Teenage Kicks” currently works with, and lends their name to local Hunter Valley AA promoters like the “Divide And Conquer Tour” (Cessnock), “DYMC” (Dungog) and “MYMC” (Maitland). As well as helping touring bands into the Hunter / Newcastle scene “Teenage Kicks” is passionate about helping upcoming young local bands break into the established local scene.In 2006 “Same Old Story” shared the stage with; “Something With Numbers”, “Bodyjar”, “After The Fall”, “Angela’s Dish”, “Riveria”, “Behind Crimson Eyes”, “Town Hall Steps”, “My Name Is John”, “Famous By Association”, “Waterview”, “As Silence Breaks” and “Set The Pace”. Also already in 2007 “Same Old Story” have played alongside national headliners at the “High Voltage” festival, Newcastle (After The Fall, Beautiful Girls) and Youthfest, Cessnock (Fifty Sixxx, Riviera).In early 2007, “Same Old Story” have independently toured regional NSW with “Teenage Kicks Productions” and are currently a key band of the “Divide And Conquer 2007” tour. ”Same Old Story” will tour NSW, and the north coast again in August - October 2007 to promote their debut EP, and will be touring with good friends “Set The Pace” on the “Nothing But Friends” east coast tour in October.“Same Old Story” will be releasing their debut self titled EP, in August 2007, and it will be available for sale online and at shows.Free pre-release promotional copies of the new record will be available for industry organisations and the media, by request from the band by June 2007.
