Although The Peacock has been in existence since the 1920's, it has been under it's current ownership and management since September 2005. In fact, The Peacock has been located exactly where it is since 1952. We are working hard to bring it back to it's once glorious and famous self.

1) Q: What year did the current owner buy The Peacock?
A: September 2005. In fact, Don Lyons took over when Tom Conner passed away in late 2004, but Tom Connor took it back from John Carter in early 2004. John Carter had it from 2000 to 2004. Tom Connor had it from 1983 to 2000.
2) Q: Is this the only restaurant that the owner has owned in Corvallis?
A: No, she grew up in Corvallis. Her family owned LUM LEE'S TEA ROOM which was located on 3rd Street. One big Chinese restaurant that stretched from where the US Bank drive thru is, encompassing the whole building all the way down to Cantina.
3) Q: What brought the current owner back to Corvallis?
A: It was the desire of her father, before he passed away, that she return to Corvallis.
4) Q: What is the famed nick name of the 2nd floor of The Peacock?
A: Top of The Peacock
5) Q: Was The Top of The Peacock in Playboy Magazine's Top 100 College Bars?
A: Yes, the October 1996 issue.
6) Q: The original shuffleboard that was at The Peacock for a great many years was sold by Tommy before he passed away. Has it found it's way back to it's rightful place?
A: Yes, the shuffleboard is back! Come play!
7) Q: When was The Peacock created?
A: In the 1920's The Peacock Restaurant opened at 104 SW 2nd. In 1952 The Peacock moved to it's current location at 125 SW 2nd.
8) Q: What year was the 125 SW 2nd building built?
A: 1885 as the R M Montgomery Livery Stable. In 1905, the stable closed because automobiles diminished the need for horses, buggies, and wagons. The building was remodeled into a furniture store. The only brick livery stable in Corvallis
9) Q: What is a female peacock called?
A: A peahen, modestly dressed. The male is the pretty one with it's famous feathers. And the babies are called peachicks
10) Q: Can peacocks fly?
A: Yes
