NU HOT RODDED ROCKABILLY!!!

About Me

Thanks for checking out Atomic Sunset at myspace.
The story of Atomic Sunset begins at the end of 2002 in Belgrade, Serbia. After a couple of years of playing together, slap bass monster Djordje Stijepovic and gretschcat Drazen Skaric decided to put their neo-swing project Havana Whisper on the side and form a rockabilly trio of the unique kind. Even though Havana Whisper was a big attraction and had a lot of success (major record deal, big amount of TV appearances, toured all over the region), they wanted to move in a different direction and go back to their first love rockabilly. Right at the very beginnig, it was obvious that the band would not be just another rockabilly band that was trying to copy the sound and look of the 50s. Over time, they were influenced by so many different music styles like surf, punk, psychobilly, swing, metal, that was impossible to be deaf for other sounds. For that kind of modern rockabilly band, the only logical choice was to invite drum supremo Sinisa Jovic to join the crew. Otherwise, who else would be able to play all that crazy stuff, except this heavily tattoed master of classical percussions (yes, hes got a master degree in classical music)?! Trio joined their forces, performed in Serbia and Hungary, and recorded an album. Since Djordje now spends most of his time in San Francisco (and performs with local rockabilly/psychobilly/jazz/classical groups), the band doesnt perform a lot, but the debut album Hot Rods & Pin Ups will be released soon. Then we expect to have more opportunities to rock world wide. In the meantime keep rockin with the tunes of this Nu Hot Rodded Rockabilly Trio!
Djordje Stijepovic plays Thomastik-Infeld strings and Planet Wing pickups exclusively.
