Hail Ups Crowd a people. JAMAKI Bo De ya reppin for the the musical freedom fighters at home and abroad. INI hail from St. Croix in the VI. I am a drummer, producer, and engineer. I also been known to rock a mic from time to time. The first incarnation was RUDE KULCHA in the early 90's. A crazy band we called Ragadelic that was an early precursor to trip hop. It then Mutated into SURVIVAL SOUNDZ. A live ROOTZBOP sound that fused JAZZ with ROCKERS and HIP HOP. We started the AVANT YARD, a progressive roots expression, where performers and visual artists got together at THOUGHT FORMS UNDERGROUND and had historical events in NYC that attracted the best of the best.
Currently I rock with The Welfare Poets, where we mix Afro Carribean riddims with hiphop and an unapologetic lyrical assault on babylon. U might also find me rocking AFROBEATS with the legendary WUNMI, Or in the ATL with the COMMON GROUND COLLECTIVE.
I have a production company that builds tracks from dub to hip hop. You can find some production soon through the Ghetto Roots camp of the Majestic Twinsound the Artical Dub and culture sound in NY. Also tracks for some VI artists. IF u don't know the Virgin Islands, it's home to some of the most talented roots musicians on the scene right now.
