SIMILAR TO CHAOS IS NO LONGER TOGETHER. WE WOULD LIKE TO GIVE OUR SINCERE THANKS TO ALL OF THOSE WHO CAME OUT AND SUPPORTED US. WE HOPE YOU HAD AS MUCH FUN AS WE DID. ALTHOUGH THE BAND IS NO LONGER TOGETHER,THE MUSIC THEY MADE STILL LIVES.
THE HISTORY OF CHAOS
Similar To Chaos was born in August of 2004 when Bruce joined the band that Rob, Mike and Carl founded known as "Halfway There". After that it wasn’t very long before the boys in STC started playing the club scene. They brought their unique style of rock to many of the different venues around town. The Emerald Theater,The I-Rock,St.Andrews Hall, and the Hayloft Liquor Stand are just a few of the venues that had the sound of Chaos echo from their walls. They shared the stage with a lot of great bands from around the Detroit area. But they shared the spotlight with their good friends in "Paperback Ninja" the most. They also had the good fortune to play on the same bill as underground legends "The Dead Kennedys". In 2006 the STC clan decided to throw their hat in the ring and enter themselves in a Battle of the Bands at the Hayloft Liquor Stand. And that night STC put it all on the line and delivered, what was at the time, their best performance ever. Their fans and the other patrons of the venue took notice. And because of their enthusiastic reaction, the band walked away the winners. In March of 2007 the band started work on what would end up being their first and last album together. The album "Morsels of Madness" was produced by Erik Garcia, the vocalist/guitarist of the great rock trio "Paperback Ninja". The recording process took place in the bands living room and took just over a week to finish. The album was released in June of 07 and featured many of their fans live favorites such as, "Feel My Pain", "Metal Mania",Teeter on the Brink" and "Breakaway", to name a few. Because of the bands demise, the album didn’t really have the opportunity to reach an audience beyond the bands core group of dedicated fans. But those fans welcomed it with open arms, and because of that STC considers the album a success.
In October of 2007,after 3 years of spreading their brand of Chaos throughout the Detroit area, the guys in STC decided to go their separate ways. The reason for this can just be chocked up too "creative differences". The guys who used to be Similar To Chaos are still friends and get along fine, but as a band the chemistry was gone.
Recently Mike ,Rob, and Carl formed the band Alien Feedback with Erik from Paperback Ninja. They are currently searching for a vocalist to complete their roster. If your interested and wanna set up an audition, or if you just wanna check in on them, be sure to check out..... Myspace.com/AlienFeedback
Bruce is currently working on a solo album and is looking to start or join a band on vocals or guitar. Or possibly both. If you wanna see what he’s been up too,or hear tracks from his solo project when they are released, you can find him at.....Myspace.com/BAGDetroit.
For those of you who were fans of STC’s music ,be sure to check out Mike,Rob and Carls new band when they start playing shows, theres a good chance you’ll still get to hear some of your Chaos favorites. They’re good songs so why would they stop playing them??
And Bruce is planning on playing some acoustic shows once his album is closer to being finished. And he plans on mixing some Chaos songs into his live set list of new songs.
Once again we thank you all. You guys are the reason it was fun. Without you,it wouldn’t have been worth leaving the basement.
