ARKAN was born in May 2005 after Abder (Dawn Of Decline) and Foued (The Old Dead Tree, Horresco Referens) decided to create a band together to mix death metal with oriental flavours.
Reda and Samir (both of them members of one of the most famous Algerian band, Worth) joined ARKAN shortly after, and Florent (Anthea) finally came in to complete the line-up. Right away, they all start to work on a few songs with the idea of releasing a first demo as soon as possible. Thanks to a very smooth writing process, the band is ready to record four songs a few months later.
In October, a first version of the website www.arkan-band.com comes online. In December, the six songs for the demo are ready to be mixed.
2006 begins with the release of Burning Flesh, ARKAN first demo. The conceptual lyrics deal with the doubts of a terrorist until he dies in a kamikaze attack.
The band is now looking for as many gigs as possible, and plans to record its first full-length album next Fall.
