I love Terrance and his song
This music vid is a bit long, but I like it.
Pokemon is coming for YOU!
Is this video "gayly ironic" or "ironically gay"? I'm not sure, but both GAY and IRONIC are heavily featured, that's for sure!
Some kids have fun with Lollipop, a song from the UK's new pop sensation, MIKA. I found it amusing....
I wish my High School crush had turned out this way! So sweet....
Well, mostly I have notoriously bad taste in music. (That's not to say that I don't like some good stuff, so don't be offended if you like something that I like too!)First off, my first THREE concerts were Rick Springfield. Does that tell you anything? Years later I saw the New Kids on the Block three times as well. Yeah, yeah, I know. I told you that I had questionable taste in music. It will help you to understand my musical taste if you realize that my "inner child" is a girl, and her development arrested at 17. See, it all makes sense if you think of me as a 17 y/o girl trapped in the body of an giant adult male....My favorite music continues to be New Wave stuff from the '80s. I think that whatever you liked when you were in high school continues to stay with you forever. Maybe it imprints in our brains somehow due to the incredible number of repetitions that we listened to. I, for one, was easily able to listen to the same song over and over for a couple of hours at a stretch. "Do you really want to hurt me?" was one of those songs. I still love old Billy Idol, Depeche Mode, Cyndi Lauper, etc.... Safety Dance anyone? My favorite "current" band is SHE WANTS REVENGE. I was fortunate enough to meet them in my office a couple of months ago and immediately fell in love with both them and their music. They're both really cool guys (or so it would seem anyway) and the music it absolutely awesome. I also love Scissor Sisters, Franz Ferdinand, Eminem, Gavin DeGraw, and Paddy Casey.Back on the "bad taste" front, I love American Idol and own almost every album that displays the American Idol name. In my defense, I can't say that I LISTEN to all of them. Some of them are just plain crapola. I love Kelly Clarkson and Clay Aiken though. Yup, I was sort of a "Claymate," at least until I met him. I think that he has problems relating to adults. In any case I was a bit underwhelmed by his personality in person. Kelly on the other hand was just the opposite. I only "sort of" liked her until I met her. After that I totally loved her. She was as sweet and genuine as anyone could be. She also has a way of connecting to every person that she talks to, even if it's only a 30 second conversation. I loved Bo Bice on the show, but wasn't so crazy about his album.
God, I love TV so much that it's almost easier to tell you what I DON'T like. Ok, so that's an exaggeration. Sue me. In current stuff, I LOVE The Shield, American Idol, Bones and The Office. Truth be told, I will happily watch almost any sitcom. Absolutely Fabulous, Fawlty Towers, I Love Lucy, Arrested Development, Roseanne, Everybody Loves Raymond, Seinfeld and Will & Grace are some of my all-time favorites. I'm crazy about Reba too for some reason. I still miss Buffy and Angel more than I can say. (I think I just teared up a little) I rarely watch TV dramas, but most HBO original series' are exceptions to that rule. I was a big fan of OZ and Six Feet Under. I'm watching Soprano's DVDs right now, but I gotta tell you, I'm thinking that it might be the most overrated show on TV. It's alright, but it sure as shit ain't no SHIELD! I, of course, loved Queer as Folk but you probably didn't need me to tell you that, right?
The GOOD NEWS: I read all the freakin' time. Last year I read somewhere between 60 and 80 books. The BAD NEWS: I mostly steer clear of "literature" and non-fiction, reading purely for joy, joy, joy. I am CRAZY for just about anything with vampires in it, from the modern day classics like Anne Rice to total tripe like "Undead and Unwed." My FAVORITE vampire series is Laurell K. Hamilton's "Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter" series. Honestly, those may be my favorite books of all time. Runners up in the all-time fave category are Lord of the Rings, Dune, Chronicles of Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever, Wheel of Time and the Recluse saga. As you can see, I pretty much focus on books that come in sets. The more volumes the better is my motto. I read very quickly and a one book storyline barely whets my appetite. I won't even read short stories as their brevity just pisses me off. I do love the essays by David Sedakis, but he is one of the few people that can get me to read a narrative that is short. I realize that pretty much everything that I've listed above is Fantasy/Swords & Sorcery. Don't be fooled. That's not all I read. I love a good mystery, and spent years focused on Sci-Fi as well. I'm rather fond of historical novels too. I guess it's just that when I'm thinking of my all-time faves, it's something with a little bit of magic everytime.....
