VERSUS | is it just electro?

love and music are the most important things in the world. but I think that music creates more feelings than love can ever create! (andre [1999]). this statement was the beginning of versus.

versus is a electro-band from monestirea (dresden/germany]. founded in 2001 was the goal of versus to creating music. now, a few years later we´re looking back on some shows and some own-produced records.

with the own-produced promo-record trapped in progress versus applied for the contest battle of the bands again. the song re:start (written by one of the band-founde [steffen] and andré]achieved on the 3rd Place of the renowned specialist jury. the first success in the young history of versus.

after all recastings and the latest break with jan (guitars) the line up of versus builds itself up now as follows:

since 2005 andre was alone responsible to write new songs. steffen was leaving us after 3 years. it was´nt easy but we know for sure that the world is still turning. the employment of guitars and experimental beats is one of many results of this new situation. another result is the 6-track cd-r. the monestirea files with some remixes of monestirea.

monestirea is a new founded nation of versus where everything is fine and all the inhabitants are still looking for a better world.

nevertheless versus will deliver purify finest electro to create feelings for all the interested people.

at present we´re still working on our 3rd fulltime record. working-title: different twilight places. in addition we´re still looking for a record-label. if a label is interested in our music we hope to hear from you.

liebe und musik sind die wichtigsten dinge in der welt. doch ich denke, dass musik mehr gefühle schaffen kann, als es die liebe jemals fähig sein wird. (andré [1999]). diese aussage war der anfang von versus.

versus ist eine electro band aus monestirea (b. dresden/deutschland]. 2001 mit dem ziel gegründet musik zu erschaffen, schauen wir nun einige jahre später auf einige shows und den ein oder anderen selbst produzierten tonträger zurück.

mit der in eigenproduktion entstandenen promo-cd "trapped in progress - version 2004" nahmen versus zum zweiten mal am bandcontest "battle of the bands" vom sonic seducer teil. der song "re:start" erreichte den dritten platz in der jury-wertung (bestehend u.a. aus eric burton [hardbeat propaganda]. dies war der erste kleine erfolg in der noch jungen bandgeschiche.

nach allen umbesetzungen der letzten jahre und der jüngsten trennung von jan (gitarre) sieht das lineup der band wie folgt aus:

seit 2005 war andré allein für neue songs verantwortlich. steffen verließ die band nach drei jahren. es war nicht einfach: doch wir wußten, dass sich die welt weiter dreht. der einsatz von gitarren und experimentelleren beats ist nur ein resultat dieser neuen situation. ein weiteres resultat war die 6-track cd-r "the monestirea files", welche diverse remixe des titeltracks vorzuweisen hat.

monestirea ist eine von versus neugegründete parallelwelt: eine welt in der alles noch schön ist und deren einwohner weiterhin ausschau halten, wie man diese weltnoch besser machen könnte.

dennoch wollen versus weiterhin feinen electro erschaffen um für alle interessierten menschen gefühle zu kreieren.

im augenblick arbeiten wir an unserem dritten fulltime-album, welches den titel "different twilight places" tragen wird. aufgrund gewisser probleme zog sich die arbeit an diesem album sehr in die länge. geschuldet ist dies auch einem geplatzten label-deal. daher suchen wir natürlich weiterhin nach einem interessierten label.

erste ofiizielle veröffentlichungen konnten wir 2007 in form von zwei remixen verbuchen: so veröffentlichten DAYS OF FATE auf ihrem album TRAFFIC mit "final destination (navigate 2 monestirea)" einen sehr clublastigen remix.
am 30.11.2007 veröffentlichte die schwedische synthpop-band UNIVERSAL POPLAB ihr album UPRISING - THE REMIXES. hierfür steuerten wir "black love song (monestirean short mix)" bei.
