Books, of course. Horses & English dressage. Native American Culture. Painting & art. I'm planning another major road trip across the U.S. and the Yukon. I'm going back to Alaska, where I used to live, but seeing more than just Sitka. I'm going to see the Alaskan Highway via the Yukon (Gold Rush Country.) THEN I'll buy my Arabian dapplegray stallion. When I find the place I'm going to stay, be it Alaska, Montana or back to the Sierra Nevada...or even the Scottish Highlands. The latter will take awhile unless the USD keeps dropping, lol! All this before I'm 50? Why not? :)
I'd like to meet:
Dead or alive? Hmm~Alive: Stephen King, Neil Young. Not many people who are alive today impress me much. Deceased: Robert the Bruce, William Wallace, Abraham Lincoln, FDR & Eleanor Roosevelt, Helen Keller, Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash, Patsy Cline, Mark Twain and Benjamin Franklin. I met Ronald Reagan in '80. He was, imho, the last true great American president. He was a sweetheart.
Music:
Classical, especially Bach, Vivaldi & Mozart. I really do love John Denver. Aerosmith, U2, pretty much all rock, 60's, 70's, New Age 80's stuff. I love music, save rap. Depending on my mood I listen to it all, but my favorite everyday 'can't go without' is Swing and Big Band (I MISS THE DERBY!!!,) Rockabilly. Sinatra and Nat King Cole are huge on my list, too. OH, and duh, I really do love Scottish Traditional Music. It's very much part of who I am.
Movies:
Braveheart, Dances with Wolves, Legends of the Fall, A River Runs Through It, Gone with the Wind, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn & of course, It's a Wonderful Life. B/W classics. I like epic films alot.
Television:
Not a huge fan of TV; I like PBS & other educational channels, though; Discovery, National Geographic, & History (when Hitler isn't on!:)
Books:
Stephen King's "Dark Tower" series; loved "The Stand" & "Desperation" I love ALL his work he is definitely my favorite writer of all time. I still love the Laura Ingalls Wilder's and C.W. Anderson's children's books; they're just so simple and sweet. I love Anderson's sketches of horses immensely. Still, I enjoy books more than movies. "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee, Mark Twain, John Steinbeck, Willa Cather, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and yes, I really do love Shakespeare. Poets include: Frost, Burns, Browning, Muir, Poe. The list is pretty much infinite, actually-the only thing I love more than books is horses :)
Heroes:
Jesus Christ. My late father, the bravest man I ever knew personally. William Wallace, Abraham Lincoln, Ronald Reagan. A woman~I have to say Diana Lee. She's the most remarkable woman I've ever known. She's always been my greatest inspiration, and is still 'the wind beneath my wings'.
