About Me

In The Beginning 3 Young Brothers From Different Backgrounds, Had A Dream Of Stardom And Fame; To Break Into The Hip Hop World, And Give Audiences A Sound To Bob Their Heads To. Though This Dream Seemed To Just Be A Dream, It Gave The 3 Brothers The Motivation They Needed To Turn This Dream Into Reality. Darnell (16), Greg(16), And Sifa(16) Were An Unlikely Trio. Darnell Who Was A Former Resident Of Compton’s, 138th Street, Was, By No Surprise, Raised In An Era Of West Coast Music. Names From The Infamous NWA To Dj Quik, Can Be Seen Tattooed On This 16 Year Old Walls. “I Live And Breathe West Coast Music” Said A Young Darnell. “Its Not The Gang Banging, But More Of How I Related To The Struggles As An Inner City Kid.” “I Used To Think, “Hey He’s Just Like Me!”, I’ve Seen The Same Things And Fought Similar Battles” “The Question I Always Asked Myself Is, “How Can I Be Heard??” “That’s When I Knew, Music Was The Answer”. Darnell Proceeded By Buying Equipment With Money He Had Earned From A Part Time Job. A Desktop Computer, Duo Tape Deck, Five Dollar Microphone, And A Stocking For A Pop Screen Was The Setup For What You Would Call A Low End Studio, But Enough To Produce Music That Was Sufficient To Put On Tape. Darnell Had Put Together A Blueprint, All That Was Needed Were The Carpenters. Greg A.K.A Proverb Was A Force That Was Far Ahead Of His Time. Born And Raised In Yonkers, New York, Greg Had Been Exposed To A Life Of Drug Dealing, Violence, And Despair.“Most Think What They See In Movies, Is Over Dramatized “It Can’t Be That Bad Can it?” “ But This Is Real Life” States A Teenage Greg, Whose Looks Maybe Deceiving, Due To His Manish Mannerisms. “A Boy Turns Into A Man As Soon As He Steps Foot Out His Front Door” “You Might Say “Look At Him… He‘s Just A Kid” “ But Trust… In My Neighbor, You Had To Grow Up Quick, Or Get Slumped Like The Rest.” “I Fathered My Siblings… Did What I Had To Do To Make Sure We All Ate. I Had No Time To Be A Kid Not When I Had Kids Of My Own.” Interviewer: “ So When Did You Go On To Discover This Musical Talent Of Yours?” Greg : “ Well This Might Sound Cliché, But I Got Locked Up. They Sent Me To A Juvenile Center And Well… You Know How That Goes.” “ Often When We Went To The Yard, Dudes That Were My Age, Would Always Call Themselves Having A Cipher.” “I Mean Honestly… That Was Probably One Of The Fewest Times A Group Of Nigga’s Would Get Together Without It Ending In A Nigga Getting Dropped.” “The Flows Were Uplifting…Lol… Kind Of Reminded Me Of A Negro Spiritual.” “ I Just Stood There Listening To These Brothers Go Around, All Spitting From The Top Of The Crown” “Couple Brothers Had Life And Others Had Petty Shit To Be In For” “But I Looked At It Like Damn, Jail Might Be A Struggle But So Are The Streets, I Guess This Is What We Call No Man’s Land Right?” Interviewer: “In a Sense” Greg : “Right…” “Anyways, I Spent Most Of My Time Just Writing Rhymes That I Knew Others Could Relate To. Over Time It Went From Me Standing There Observing The Cipher, To Me Always Starting One Off.” “ I Had Gotten Better Than Most Of The Dudes That Had Been Rapping For A While” “ Couple Of Dudes Told Me It’s Something I Should Pursue” “ I Thought About It But First On My Agenda Was Trying To Find A Way Out The Hood For My Brothers And Sisters” And So He Did. After Being Released From His Confinements, Prov Got Himself Together, And No Later Than 2 Months, Had Finally Been Able To Rest His Eyes, Flying Coach, With Brother In Sister In Arms To California...
