Last year I recorded a track for ELECTRIC FORGIVENESS, a duo consisting of John "Rabbit" Bundrick (the Who) and Jon Dawson (Third Of Never). In the past I've been fortunate to have played with a bunch of great people here in NC. Some of the more current bands I've been in you can see in my pics...

I play Ludwig and Yamaha drums. I'm liking the Ludwigs better. They're Super Classics from the 60's. They're champagne sparkle! They rock!!!

I started using soft cases for my drums (Beato Pro 1s). They are so much easier to deal with than hard/fiber cases. Unless your throwing your kit in a van with all the other gear I would highly recommend soft cases.

My hihats are 14" New Beats that I bought forever ago. I think they work great with most everything, heavy rock to most jazz. My ride and crashes are Zildjian Ks with the brilliant finish. The crashes (dark) 17" and 18" are both thins and the ride, just a ride. The brilliant finish (not so much anymore) give them a bit heavier feel. The ride is a 20" which is my favorite size for a ride. It has a nice wash when played on the edge, with the shank of the stick, which I seem to do more of these days.

I picked up a new "gig bag" for my cymbals. It's a Zildjian knap sack style bag "capable of carrying cymbals up to 22 in. in diameter" with "three dividers for cymbal organization." An external pocket holds the hihats, plus there's "a handy zippered pocket for small items." I carry my stick bag in main compartment as well. And at $45.00 you can't beat it...

Just bought an 18" A. Zildjian Thin Crash that I ran across at the Durham Music Loft. Sounds a lot like Ringo's cymbal on "She Said She Said". Really nice clear sound. The A. line is such a classic cymbal sound! My Ks sound super dark next to this one.
