I am here for Friends

About Me

I'm a lover and a revolutionary.

Me on National TV! from Adam Durand on Vimeo .

My Interests

Running, Cooking, Protests, Biking (commuting to work by bike!), Design

I have been attending a local Unitarian Universalist church for the past year, and consider myself an atheist UU.

I have a garden that I love so much when I have the time for it. I failed to extensively document it on my personal site, but click that link to learn more.

I'd like to meet:

Bike commuters. Self-starters. People who use love to end injustice.

Music:

I play piano, mandolin, and other stringed instruments. And I sing the songs I write. Mostly silly songs about the quirky personality traits of people and animals. Want to start a band?

Movies:

The Dark Crystal, The Last Starfighter - in general, movies that pit unlikely, sheltered heroes against a huge menace, on a journey in a world that they never knew existed before they became the hero, at incredible odds. Children of Men is the most recent movie I've seen that nearly fits this mold - and it's a very very good movie.

Most anticipated upcoming film: Stop-Loss

Television:

The Wire. Not the fifth season though.

Books:

I read Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close while I was in jail, and it is the best book I've ever read. If you haven't read it yet, please do. The main character in the book is vegan, except for astronaut ice cream.

Heroes:

"Truth has no special time of its own. Its hour is now - always." - Albert Schweitzer
