Hey May!

One happy chickadee

About Me

I like chunky peanutbutter, fruit and veggies, real cheese, and rock music. I can't stand American cheese or country music. I like the rain (grew up in the Portland, Oregon area). Don't like humidity, but can tolerate it better than I thought I could. Hot baths on a cold night with a book to read rock! I'm a wife and a mommy and that is just what I've always wanted to be. My Interests

What can I say.... I'm pretty boring by some standards; ok most standards. I am a homebody. I love decorating the house and doing other such projects. I like to scrapbook and garden. Cooking for a group is fun. I enjoy being a hostess. I like to read, but I don't do as much as I'd like because I get distracted easily. I love to ride on the back of Nick's motorcycle. I wish we were able to take off and do that more often. If we had the means I would be a traveler. I love to travel! Nick describes me as a tree hugger, health nut. I am very interested in health and nutrition and thus have a home business in that category. I am a people person, but I do better one on one than in big crowds. I love to act. Right now, my greatest interest is my son.

I'd like to meet:

Queen Esther, Ruth, my husband's dad and Papaw.

Music:

I don't stay up on music very well but, I love Dave Matthews and rap rock believe it or not. The new Kutlass worship album is awesome!

Movies:

Loved the Lord of the Rings trilogy (see books too). Love Christopher Guest's work ie: Waiting for Guffman, Best in Show, A Mighty Wind. The Castle, Drop Dead Gorgeous (ok most mockumentaries). Dukes of Hazard, X Men. I've always said that The Shawshank Redemption is my favorite though.

Television:

I found a new show. It's called Psych and its on USA network. It is hilarious! I had also never seen Monk before. I really like it. I didn't think I would. The Office is probably the best new show out though. I can't wait till this season of Smallville comes out on DVD.

Books:

Lord of the Rings trilogy (read it twice), Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis, Chronicles of Narnia, Frank Peretti's books, Every Nation in our Generation by Rice Brooks. Genesis Unbound by John Salihmer (amazing!). Finally finished Don't Waste Your Life by John Piper.

Heroes:

My husband (man of God and war hero), my mom and dad (mom fought an 8 year battle with brain cancer and Dad stood by her side till the end) and Gigi (my mom's mom who is the reason our family is all serving the Lord).

Challenge your thinking

Political Rantings

Ok, I hope that I don't offend anyone, but this is my blog right? I have been hearing a lot lately about affecting your culture. Don't sit by and let it affect you I've heard. Then I think, "but how."...
