Overoth are a Death Metal Band hailing from the Belfast area of Northern Ireland. They Formed in late 2005 by four close friends with a raw passion for Death Metal. They have been playing the Irish scene for little more than a year now and have only recieved great reception wherever they’ve played. Their first Demo "Pathway to Demise", although lacking professional recording quality has recieved several great reviews and has been described as ‘Bludgeoning’ by Peter Theobalds (ex Akercocke) and ‘Better than my first demo’ from Martin (Decapitated.) With good feedback and confidence form their first release the band decided to enter the studio again to record new material. Over the late spring of 2007 the band worked on a new CD entitled Death Personified with Komodo Studios & MSB Mastering. Not long after the recording was complete Rundown Records were in touch with the band, a deal was negotiated and signed in blood. Rundown released this statement, ’Overoth are one of the most promising death metal bands to come out of Northern Ireland in a long time, their enthusiasm is as infestious as their breed of classic style death metal making this release as fantastic on CD as it is to witness them live.’ A release date has been set for 16th November, see gig listings for live release dates.

Let me start out by saying that this was probably my favorite of the albums that I reviewed in this batch of reviews. Good amount of changes in each song. This album does not get stagnant at any point...

Death Personified Review (www.metalhubs.com)

The closest I can come to describing Overoth's sound is a mix between old Malevolent Creation, Unleashed, and possibly a hint of Bolt Thrower in there somewhere. Although Overoth do not exactly b...

Death Personified Review (www.metalteamuk.net)

This Northern Ireland quartet love old school death metal, as do I. In todays over clinical and saturated death metal scene, Overoth are a breath of fetid air. The hugely dense sound of the opener is ...

Overoth Live Review w/ Napalm Death, Condemned & War Iron

It's a heartening sight to see a large crowd of metallers queuing early to get into a gig, and this queue was the biggest one seen in a long time. As a hasty replacement for Scald, who had to cancel t...

Overoth are a fucking amazing band. Even though their debut demo had the type of atrocious production that can reduce a hack to a Falling Down style reappraisal of the world, you could hear the talent...

Review from Ciaran Tracey - Metal Ireland Few things warm an old buzzard's cockles so much as an excellent and unassuming demo. The type of demo, say, that does not call itself an 'ep'. The type of de...
