This Way Up was originally just Tim, Sean and Reece jamming together and trying to learn some covers, 'til Polly (vocals) and Jason (bass) joined the fold. Now This Way Up had a complete line-up, they wasted no time in writing songs, fusing the hard rock sound with modern indie vocals.
In 2007 This Way Up was booked for many gigs in the late year, they have played at venues such as The Marquee, The Square, The Green room and many other venues. The band started off small as a supporting act, yet recently in the new year they have already started headlining shows. With a growing fanbase; locally and via the internet, there is a strong appreciation of the bands music, which is gradually taking over the local scene.
