Greetings, and welcome to the "SuperPlanet", home of the "SuperStar" J.Storm.
Get ready to go on a journey like no other you've experienced.
As a young producer/songwriter/singer/rapper/ J.Storm has been creating music since the late 90's.
J.Storm was given a musical boost at birth, his mother being an accomplished gospel singer/songwriter and his father a gospel producer/songwriter and musician.
Jay began singing early at home and in church listening to the sounds of artist like
"The Clark Sisters", "The Winans", Shirley Ceasar, Daryl Coley, etc.
His father recognized his talent for picking up rhythms and began teaching him to play the drums when he was just five years old.
By the time he was seven Jay was playing in huge gospel concerts.
Jay always had a love for hip-hop and R&B music but being from a stern Pentecostal background he was not allowed to listen to "secular" music in his home.
His cousin, Steven "Statik" Smith introduced him to rap music in the early 90's
Influencing him with the sounds of Big Daddy Kane, LL Cool J, and others.
One night, while sneaking into his living room to watch Video Music Box,
Jay happened to see Nas' video “The World is Yoursâ€.
This would forever change the way Jay looked at music.
Jay would began to mimic rappers like Nas, and Notorious BIG
In 1996 while listening to Jay-Z's "Reasonable Doubt"
J.Storm decided to write his very 1st rap verse.
He continued to sharpen his craft joining several young rap acts along the way.
In 1998 when he was 15 years old J.Storm and one of his rap mates were offered a recording/songwriting deal with a small record label.
Jay recorded and wrote songs and began making beats with his buddy, and in the mix of things even landed a song with recording artist "Xcape".
In 1999 while in high school Jay met another young musician.
The two began making beats together and formed the production team “Tha BeatMizrsâ€
Tha BeatMizrs gained notoriety and in 2004 began a joint venture with another production camp to produce music for Missy Elliott.
While with Missy, Tha BeatMizrs produced songs for many artists including:
Missy Elliott, Tweet, Fantasia, Gwen Stefani, Pink, B5, Lil’ Flip, Joe Budden,
and others
In 2005 J.Storm decided it was time for him to step into the world of the recording artist
And began producing and writing records for his own solo project entitled “SuperStar “.
SuperStar is a fusion of 60’s R&B, 70’s funk, 80’s pop, and 90’s hiphop, all taken and given a warp speed jump into the new millennium.
As you listen to the “SuperStar†you will feel like you’ve been taken on a trip through time only to awaken and feel like you want to do it all over again.
Are you ready to go.
