DJ SOL - IT’S OFFICIAL OUT NOW!

DJ Sol started mixing at the age of 15. He was inspired by DJ’s like the Baka Boyz, E-man, Bad Boy Bill, RichardHumpty Vission, Armand Van Helden, Megaman & Wicked. Sol would soon spend countless hours at his friend andfellow DJ, Richard X’s house. They practiced mixing, cutting, and scratching on Richard X’s Technics. Sol quicklydeveloped a new love for Dj’ing. He saved up enough money to purchase his own set of Technics. "The appeal ofbeing a DJ was a simple love for music.” Sol goes on to say (that) “The more time I spent mixing the better Ibecame. Mixing grew into an obsession, it became like a drug. Studying for class took a back seat to spendingtime on a new mix”. When Sol wasn't in school, he was at home, making workout mixes. The mixes were typicallyupbeat, and they gained instant cult following from his peers.
Hustle was the word that best exemplified Sol’s drive. He pushed his mixes by passing them out in school, on thestreet and at work. The exposure from his mixtapes led to requests for him to make appearances at house andblock parties. He continued to push his mixes at some of the local lounges and clubs. His next break happenedwhen he secured the residency at Santa Maria’s Club Rocae’s. During his run at Rocae’s, Sol worked hard toseparate himself from the rest of the DJ’s in the area. His path was clearly illuminated. He was going to outworkeverybody to become the top DJ on the Central Coast.
The trek to the top is never an easy one, and it would not be complete without radio exposure. His on airopportunity first materialized at KWWV Wild 106.1. Wild is based out of San Luis Obispo, California. Sol’spopularity propelled him to the prime time slot of the five o’clock traffic jam. Sol also provides special guestappearances on the Friday Night and Saturday Night Street Party for Wild 106.1.
Sol’s burgeoning radio career and his talent landed him the residency at San Luis Obispo’s premier night club,Mother’s Tavern. He can be heard on Tuesday and Friday nights. During his time at Mother’s he encountered theMixaholics. They joined forces and set their goals high. Founded in early 2007, the Mixaholics are an alliance ofDJ’s making their mark in the club scene. They are using innovative turntable styles and techniques. They havealso secured several club residencies, as well as radio spots at two of the Central California’s top radiostations. Everything has been on the incline since inception for the Mixaholics. They will continue their journeytowards worldwide recognition.
