Writer, producer, artist and DJ, KO is a quadruple threat. His skills both behind the scenes and as a performer dominate all aspects of the music industry from working on tracks with Amerie, to performing with Destiny’s Child and KRS One, to being the a part of the vocal production of Britney Spear’s infamous Onyx Hotel Tour. Being immersed in so many aspects of the music industry may seem to be an almost impossible challenge, but it is most certainly what flavors and characterizes KO’s impressive and aggressive sound and work ethic.Growing up in a suburban town on the California central coast was a far cry from the lights of Hollywood. While being raised surrounded by the conservativeness of his community, KO discovered his knack for wordplay and ear for music gaining writing influences from bands such as The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana, and the Smashing Pumpkins. Eventually, KO knew he had to immerse himself, and his budding talents as a writer and performer, into bigger waters in order to further involve himself in the hip hop community and quickly moved to San Francisco to begin writing and producing songs for local artists in the Bay Area. After several years, K.O. had the talent and experience he deemed necessary to take the next step and he quickly relocated to Los Angeles with his musical equipment in tow.Shortly after relocating, KO caught the eye of one of the nations most popular hip hop radio stations - Power 106 - and scored an on-air spot with them. Using the station as his platform, KO went on to become the number one freestyle rap champion, thus catapulting his status into over drive and began his career in the music business. The opportunity lead him to work with such artists as Spears, Shifty, Lil Flip, Paul Oakenfold, Rebel and more, expanding his musical repertoire and diverse artist roster. Most recently, KO has led the ACDC dance crew in their highly publicized online dance battle against Disney star Miley Cyrus, as DJ – a role he will once again reprise live at 2008’s Teen Choice Awards. In between DJ-ing, KO is hard at work in the studio putting together Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester’s debut album, as well as piecing together his own album which will be released in the winter of 2009, thus proving that a quadruple threat, excelling at every project in front of him, is truly a force to be reckoned with.
