It came from the forum...
One of the ideas that grew out of this forum was that of an Indie Spinner Rack Anthology comic.
Both Charlito and Mister Phil thought it was an incredible idea, but more a pipe dream as we did not have the capital to back something of this sort. No sooner had the forum been abuzz discussing this concept when we received a legitimate offer to publish the ISR Anthology from our friend Ryan Dunlavey of Action Philosophers and Evil Twin Comics. We hope that the Official ISR Anthology could be an exciting addition to the indie comics scene featuring both incredible upcoming and established indie talent.
The proceeds will be split in half - 50% will help fund the show and keep it alive, and the other 50% will be donated to The Center for Cartoon Studies who will award a worthy student. We are very pleased that James Sturm was excited and agreed to be involved in this project. This gives us the opportunity to give something back to the comics community that has given so much to us.
The book, titled AWESOME!, will premiere at SPX 2007 on October 12th
and will be available at comic book stores on October 17th.
The official launch party will follow at Rocketship in Brooklyn, NY on October 20th.
