About Me

Estel formed officially in fall 2003. For such a young band their roots grow deep, bridging one genre to the next through their music. What do they sound like? Folk? Rock? Electronica? Alternative? Not really - even though they use all of these things, they are none of the above. I can't pin it down, and to me that's a treasured inconvenience in bands nowadays. Though a small three-piece, these guys have a lot to say. Get near Stephen long enough and you'll want to consume the book that you wonder if he'll ever write as he pours out his art in pure intelligence. Kevin's quiet persona is amplified when he sets his mac on a stand and picks up his guitar, ready to get lost in what he loves most - the live outpouring. It's refreshing to find a drummer who is just as innovative as the rest of the band. I am not lying when I say that estel could not be estel without Jeremy. He is a writer, a creator, a force for new sounds and honest, unexpected songs. This profile was edited with Thomas' myspace editor™ V2.5

Sounds Like: I like saying "rock music." I like using this term; no one is quite sure what it means. Yet that's how I feel about these songs that we write. It's just like those times when you're all excited about this thing that happened to you at some time in this place, and you go nuts trying to get your friend to understand exactly what happened - exactly how it felt, you're trying to get them to see and then... You find out that all you can really think say is, "You just had to be there to understand." That is what I mean when I say "rock music."

What do we care about fate? Fate. Fate is beyond our ability to control. But we are such control freaks, what would we care for such a proposition? Fate is fact, immutable, and no less so for bein...

Why are we beings of such pride? What can we call our own that we should be sometimes moved to defend it so maliciously? Why do we eye each other so suspiciously, sizing each other up for a fight not ...

I just happened upon this in my notes... I like it: I think about someone that I do not know. Is this unreasonable, or is it the reason? I mull over questions that I had not thought to answer wh...
