About Me

I'm Jared Mathis. The first thing you should know about me is that I'm a Christian. If you try to give me the credit for my talents, don't because the glory goes to God: the one who gave them to me.I may be only 18, and some people would tell me that I have my whole life in front of me, but that's not a lot of time when you think about it. When you really think about it - when it's all said and done, the only thing that will matter will be what I did for Christ. End of story.
God loves us no matter how ugly our sin makes us. In fact, he sent His Son, Jesus Christ, down to live a perfect, sinless life on this earth to ultimately die on a cross in my and your place so that we don't have to live eternally in hell. All we have to do is believe and accept Him as our personal Lord and Savior. To love sacrificially despite another's faults is the most beautiful kind of love I have ever seen.
You could try and engage me in a debate about my beliefs, but science can never disprove all the wonderful things that God has done in my life. (That being said, I am a Math and Physics major at an engineering college.)

Those are probably my biggest influences. I've had a lot and I can't possibly name them all. Really, every song I hear adds to me and that part of me inside that makes music is constantly being reshaped and reformed by it.

In terms of vocal dynamics, my favorite vocalists are:
- Aaron Gillespie (The Almost, UnderOath)
- John Vesley (Secondhand Serenade)
- Jared Leto (30 Seconds To Mars)

Sounds Like: Apparently, I sing in a "horny voice."

People often tell me that my piano stuff sounds like Evanescence, New-Age, or classical.

For you music theory people, I use a lot of Aoelian, Lydian and Ionian modes mainly. I also sometimes throw in a Locrian in my piano stuff just to piss off musicians...

I don't download illegal music. You aren't just undermining a "rich" label company: there's tons of other people that go into the production of an album, everything from sound engineers to the janitors; all those people suffer, too.
