Club O' Noodles, Mai Piece, ViFF... film, viet nam, spoken word, theatre, comedy, photography, travel, matters of the heart
artists who make my heart skip beats, lovers who make my art strip sheets, friends who make my fart quip squeaks ;)
i miss my vietnam boyz:
Ani DiFranco, BareNakedLadies, Cake, Matchbox 20, Ill Again, Thomas' Apt, Black April, Postal Service, Snoop Dizzle, Eminem- that's right, i said it, Rahzel, BlackEyedPeas, Outkast, the Roots, Usher, and... tho i hate to admit it, R. Kelly. on the Vietside...Tuan Ngoc, Khanh Ly, Elvis Phuong (yeah sometimes i'm like a lil' ole vietnamese lady. but the cool kind, who's been thru wars and punk-nosed street kids, and kills sewer rats with her bare hands)
are you kidding? damn there are so many... to name a few... Lost In Translation, Collateral, Hero, Man on Fire, Lilo & Stitch, Matrix, LOTR, Harry Potter, Rabbit-Proof Fence, Green Mile, Shawshank Redemption, Kill Bill I & II, Usual Suspects, In the Mood For Love, Chungking Express, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (anything written by Charlie Kaufmann, really), Cyclo, OldBoy, So I Married an Axe Murderer, Wayne's World, Dumb&Dumber, Happy Gilmore, Wedding Crashers... let's just say i spend too much on dvd's.
tv was my fave babysitter, my solace, and today is the first thing i turn on when i get to my room, and the last thing i turn off when i leave... in the past: who's the boss, three's company, carebears, transformers, thundercats, saved by the bell... presently: nip/tuck, desperate housewives, and VH1's best week ever's... lives on in syndication/Dvd's: friends, sex in the city, Arrested Development, LOST
"the world according to garp"-- changed my life. "the unwanted" by kien nguyen, Aimee Phan's "we should never meet" cuz she went to school with me and that is hella neato, "are you there God? it's me, margaret"... the book that got me thru Stage One of Puberty.
both my grammas. they've seen it all and i have yet to realize all they know... my mama's mama (ba ngoai):
