My bestest friend in the whole wide world ( "Monkee" ) kept trying to get me to join this crazy site called Myspace. At the time it was huge in CA, yet still not that known on the East Coast. One night I went to the Social to see Pinback, and I was introduced to the music of Lake Trout . After the show, I immediately rushed home and checked out their website. Their main url had a link to their myspace page, so sure enough I finally joined. Not only did I make Monkee happy, but I made myself after getting a chance to meet some amazing new friends down the road ( Mags , Jeremy & Jenn will always be my favorites). I remember talking .. one night with *a* on our webcams, and saying, "who is that?!?", in reference to this beautiful woman who was walking behind her in a towel. Turned out to be someone she was staying with. I ended up chatting with this woman on occasion, just random IMs and quarky messages through myspace about random shit (Gnomes, Princess Beds & Bob Barker to name a few).
Well when I arrived in CA this past spring, Monkee brought her partner in crime to the Airport with her, and I was in love! Not only was she beautiful, but a complete dork like myself. When she started to talk about editing videos, I believe that I sighed out loud. We had an absolute blast during that week, to the point where it hurt to leave. The 5hour trip home absolutely sucked b/c I couldn't get her out of my mind, and I kept wondering what could happen if things were different (living closer). My fears were erased once I arrived to Orlando, b/c I had about 5 text messages from her on my phone once I landed. Not only was I relieved that she had the same feelings, but I was convinced that we could make things work. After that I went back to CA, while she came here to visit me. The big test is when I went with her to NC to meet her entire (massive) family. Luckily her brother's wedding took the pressure off of me, but not only did I feel so comfortable around her friends/family, I ended up giving her father a strip tease (don't ask). The day we left each other in NC was one of the toughest things I had to do in my life....but the day she said she would move here to be with me, my life was almost perfect. Perfection came on September 2nd when Kristen moved in with me, to start a new beginning in our lives. I truly love you Kristen, and yes Monkee..you will be my best man! ;-)
