MyGen Profile Generator MyGen Profile Generator MyGen Profile GeneratorPreet is an edgy, versatile and prolific songwriter, capable of producing and composing various genres of music ranging from pop, indie, R&B and soul to contemporary jazz.Preet has been seriously composing, arranging and writing since the age of 14 and has worked and written with producer Lee Horrocks, who is a writer and producer, signed to Ric Wake's (producer for Celine Dion, J-Lo, Mariah Carey, Anastasia, NSYNC) publishing company Notation Publishing in the United States of America. Lee has numerous songs coming out next year across Europe and the U.S, with artists signed to major record labels, including the Backstreet Boys.Preet is currently working on her debut album, some of which was recorded at the famous Cove City Studios, Long Island NYC and the Dairy Studios, Brixton, where Preet now has her own production room with upcoming producer Alan Kasirye.Preet was a finalist in the UK National Songwriting Competition 2002 for the pop category for the track “Mr DJ”. This was sponsored by the Brit Trust (Behind the Brit Awards, which is the UK equivalent of the Grammy’s), TAXI, MusicAid and the Guild of International Songwriters and Composers. Preet was also a finalist in the VH1 Song of the Year competition for January 2004 and was short listed to the “honourable mention category” in the finals for the VH1 Song of the Year competition.Preet has also undertaken training in songwriting and melody structure with UK Ivor Novello Award Winner Michelle Escoffery (whose credits include Tina Turner) and will be writing with Michelle soon.Preet has performed at various showcases, including showcases in London and she was selected to play at the unsigned showcase at New York International Music Festival in New York in April 2004. In 2005, Preet performed as a support Act at the Jagged Edge and 112 concert at Hammersmith Apollo, London and was recently asked to perform with Top African Jazz Band Osibisa.Preet is an accomplished live performer with a wide vocal range. She would describe Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Prince and Damien Rice as some of her songwriting and composition influences. Her own performance style is a combination of Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Aretha Franklin and Prince.Her music is a blend of edgy soul and R&B fused with an acoustic singer songwriter style creating an original and distinctive sound with mainstream appeal.
