Over the years my interests have changed but some of the most steadfast are nature, travel, and music. Given free time I also enjoy photography, filmmaking, camping, live music, tattoos, cooking, growing tropical plants, and road trips. My work deals with the study of behavior, phylogenetics, and conservation of Neotropical amphibians and this work (passion) fills much of my time. Outside work I am very interested in the DIY music/art/film scene-- I could most basically be described as a punk rock scientist. My current projects include: www.atelopus.org www.treewalkers.org

Everying. I have especially been motivated by the books of Daniel Quinn
I've been inspired by many people from many walks of life. Right now people who are very inspirational to me are Daniel Quinn, E.O. Wilson, Kyle Summers, Luis Coloma, Drew Speziale, Eddie Izzard, Sir David Attenborough, and a local homeless man in Peru whom we affectionately call "the pantless wonder"
