Music:

I am soooo Rap/Hip-hop girl, but I also like house, trance, reggae, and classic rock like the Stones, Led Zeppelin, Zombies and the Doors. And i love old school punk rock. Some of my favorite bands include my boys in Common Sense, Sublime, Pennywise, Mars Volta, Sex Pistols, the Clash, the Arcade Fire... rappers like 2pac, Wu-Tang, Alkoholiks, Mike Jones... when it comes to hip-hop, I can get all sorts of gangsta on you! The only music I really can't take is country.... I hate, hate, hate it.

Movies:

Mine... The Convent! My absolute favorites... True Romance, Goodfellas, The Godfather I and II, Apocalypse Now, Casino, Snatch, Lords of Dogtown, Donnie Darko, Harvard Man, The Big Lebowski, The Descent, 300 and my newest favorite... Grandma's Boy. I love all horror movies... I just can't help myself!

Television:

The Tudors, The Sopranos, Weeds, Entourage.

Books:

On the Road, The Sun Also Rises, Naked Lunch, Of Human Bondage, The Other Boleyn Girl.

Heroes:

Brigitte Bardot, my mom, Jennifer Aniston, Martha Stewart... and Nancy Pelosi!

My first night in Amsterdam... excerpt from my book

I was so exhausted from night train after night train that I was actually happy to be on one that arrived at a decent hour.  Or so we thought 9 p.m. was a decent hour. Amsterdam was pac...

Do you really want to know?

I love taking stony bike rides on my pink cruiser.  I didn't believe in love at first sight until this year.  I love when it's cloudy and grey and the sky meshes into the ocean.  Someti...

Making it count

Making it count I literally watched a man's entire life change in seconds today.  His motorcycle skidded right in front of my car and hit the curb.  It seemed like the damage would be minor ...

Rants from Amsterdam

I sat on the balcony facing Leidsestraat all night long, writing and smoking. Smoking and writing.  One feeds the other.  It was flowing like it hasn't in awhile.  I am so inspired by a...

Waiting for my ruca

I hope that you will have some way of reading this, since I don't know when I will talk to you or see you again.  I hate that you were yanked from my life so abruptly and from everyone's for that...

The evil bruise

I have the worst bruise on my arm right now.  It's a week old and people still comment like they've never seen something so horrible.  Except for my boss... her comment was "That bruise is s...

A life cut short

Today is the anniversary of the death of one of my best friends in the whole word.  A man I was so connected to, he was like my brother, my soulmate, my best friend.  I believe in never havi...

The puke chronicles - ugly name, I know

I puked all the way to work this morning.  I hate the word 'puke', but when you're regurgitating in a plastic bag while driving on the 405, there is really no better word.  I prefer 'throw u...

Driving in the hood

I got a flat tire down in the hood the other day.  Yeah, close to the crack house, but not close enough to ask them for help.  Not that I wanted their help, of course.  The whole situat...

The crack house was going off

I drive by this crack house on La Brea every day on my way to and from work.  Day or night there's always at least one dealer sitting on the front steps, making deals, guarding their territory, c...
