About Me

Hello Sean Hayes here.... Choices …chaos…chocolate… This is my fourteenth year in San Francisco. I write songs and sing in bars. Somewhere out there in the great bigness there is a Black Hole singing and eating up little baby stars. So be careful of mean people backup by whiskey. I like the sound of claw hammer banjo. Years ago in North Carolina I played Irish music and tradition American songs in a band called “the Boys of Blue Hill” I also like PJ Harvey. The world has changed a lot. We are dinosaurs walking around in a sea of digital realities. Things do not weigh as much as they use to. I am listening to a radio station that is 3000 miles away. I make my living playing songs. I do and I just get by in this city of earth shakin. If you dig it up pass it on….this is all for now more later yes

Sounds Like: Taken from the blog....I guess I am Floating.....Sean Hayes...This artist has a voice, despite all of my pondering and debates with friends, that I just can't peg. He sounds like someone I have heard or listened to and (for the life of me) can't figure out who that person is. It was, and still is, driving me insane. Such is the effect of Sean Hayes. Perhaps it's his all too familiar voice and pensive lyrics. Perhaps it's his Art Garfunkel meets Wayne Coyne looks. In short, Sean Hayes is one hell of an artist. Already on his fourth album, Big Black Hole and the Little Baby Star, Hayes' voice is incredible and his talent is nearly undeniable.....Who do you think Sean Hayes sounds like, vocally?.....Drop a line, because I am drawing blanks......POSTED BY NATHANIEL AT 9:33 PM 13 COMMENTS: Anonymous said... This might be way off, but his voice reminds me a teeny bit of Thom Yorke, particularly OK Computer songs, i.e. "Karma Police" and "Exit Music."__Okbye. 9:40 PM Anonymous said... Reminds me of folk singer Brett Dennen crossed with Tracy Chapman...but it's probably just me... 10:36 PM Anonymous said... He reminds me a bit of Andrew Bird... 10:51 PM Hatty said... Marilyn Manson. Yep, the similarities are just mind boggling 12:20 AM uwmryan said... Neil Young mixed with Will Oldham 9:00 AM connor said... my turn my turn!__i think damien rice, with a hint of tracy chapman, as someone else said 10:55 AM Squashed said... Damien Rice is the closest I think. second is Colin Meloy from Decemberists/tarkio.__So I elect to mix them two. Damien Rice + Colin Meloy = Sean Hayes 1:03 PM Automedusa said... I find a little bit of Devendra's first album and Wil Oldham. Lovely tunes! 1:04 PM mjrc said... This may sound screwy, but he sounds like a male Billie Holiday, or a male Madeleine Peyroux. There's an old-fashioned timbre to his voice. 6:01 PM Anonymous said... Whoever said Will Oldham is Cuhrazy! I agree with the Andrew Bird comment, with a hint of ... what? Ben Harper? 12:26 PM Anonymous said... It's somebody pop. It sounds like some 90's pop fellow. I'm sure of it. 5:32 AM Anonymous said... He's definitely got a bit of Tracy Chapman in his voice. 1:25 PM Eryk said... Oh man, I think he's a dead ringer for M.Ward. 10:25 PM
