What can I say? I've been involved in music one way or another all my life. I started DJing at 13 and have been actively involved in music ever since. I've hosted a college radio program, promoted Kid Capri and was the first person to bring Jay Z and Brian McKnight to Canada back in like "96" (I know this because I did the immigration work for Kristie Clifford Asti Management). I've lived most of my life in Scarborough but have spent times in Pickering, Ottawa, New York, Montreal, and LA. In 97 I landed a gig at Universal/MCA. After a merger with PolyGram I had honor of heading up the largest Urban Music department in the country where we created Universal Urban. Under this department we dominated the market place marketing and promoting artist like Eminem, Jay-Z, Meth & Red, DMX, Brian McKnight, Shaggy, Mary J, K-Ci and JoJo, Lil Jon, Snoop & the EastSidaz, Common, The Roots, Kardinal, Tommy Lee, Jully Black, Baby Blue Sound Crew, LL Cool J 50 Cent, Black Eyed Peas, Eve, India Arie, Mya and too many mention. Universal Urban housed the worlds biggest labels, Def Jam, MCA, Interscope, Island, Dreamworks, TVT and with this we dominated the market place reaching an astounding 69% of the urban music market in this country (and it continues to increase today). Ahhhh the promo trips, the conferences, the concerts, the after parties, the backstages, THE STORIES.... yes the stories. In 2004 I resigned and signed a deal with Universal to start my own label SOUL CLAP RECORDS. In the past 2 year I've signed artist, bought a club FEZ BATIK, and partnered on a recording studio DESCHAMPS RECORDING STUDIO. So that's it in a nutshell. My life, My travels, My time.....
