An easy way to send them a gift. Please remember that you can't send books directly. They must be shipped from a bookstore or publisher. When you order through the Wish List, amazon.com automatically removes the purchased book from the list. This helps ensure Damien won't receive duplicates of the same item.

Inmate Mail Requirements
There is an extensive list of guidelines to follow when writing someone who is incarcerated so please read the following:
Unacceptable items include hardback photos, negatives, photos larger than 4" X 6" and Polaroid photos. (They are only allowed to have a total of five photographs at any one time.) No picture frames. Pre-printed special occasion cards are fine but don’t send anything made of construction paper. Regular white 20 LB bond paper in a regular white envelope is ideal. Plastic is not allowed. CDs, videos and cassettes are not allowed. Books and magazines must be mailed by a publisher, bookstore or other commercially recognized outlet – do not send them from your home or they will be returned. They are only allowed to keep a few magazines at a time for one month after the cover date and are not allowed to have posters or fold-out pictures. Stories or scripts bound with brass brads are not allowed. No padded envelopes, laminated items, stickers or glued items. No trading cards. No calling cards. Items depicting gang activity (such as hand signs or logos), weapons, drugs, fighting techniques or unlawful activity are not allowed. Pictures, drawings, magazines or books depicting Satanic rituals, symbols or images are not allowed. Nothing that appears "coded" is allowed. No clothing and other cloth items. No jewelry, pens, pencils, or other property. Do not send prisoners cash or money orders -- all money orders must be sent to Pine Bluff with a deposit slip made out in their name. Anything sent that cannot be examined without being destroyed is not allowed. No food or personal hygiene items of any kind. Anything of an unknown substance is not allowed. Also -- anything printed that is about, or depicting their case may be rejected.
You can use stamps on your correspondence to prisoners, but they will be removed by prison staff before delivery. Don't send loose stamps or self-addressed stamped envelopes or postcards to them, stamps are not allowed. Prisoners must buy preposted envelopes and stationery from the prison commissary. It would be helpful to send a money order to their commissary account to help out with postage and writing supplies -- it is the only way they can obtain them.
CHRISTOPHER BYERS BIOLOGICAL FATHER SPEAKS OUT
(From May 2000)
Rick Murray, biological father of victim Christopher Byers, contacted WM3.org in the hopes of making his sentiments public knowledge.
Here are his views on the case:My name is Rick Murray, and I am the biological father of Christopher, one of the three boys who were murdered in West Memphis, Arkansas, in 1993. I'm making this statement to say that I am not satisfied with the investigation of my son's murder. I am not satisfied with the verdicts of the trials, and I want everyone to know that I believe the wrong people are in prison for this crime.I have many reasons for feeling this way. I know the people who are close to this thing, and I know that people were mad about it, and they were wanting it to be solved quick. It got to the point where they weren't thinking about the truth, they were only listening to what the police and the reporters were telling them. There was no evidence to convict the three who are in prison and everybody knows this. They just don't want to see it this way, because it's easier to believe that the police got the right people. One of the reasons I feel the way I feel is because I don't think that Damien, Jason and Jessie are insane, but I feel that it would definitely take an insane person to do what was done to those children. There are a lot of things that the police just didn't look into. Someone could have driven up along the tree line on the East side of the wooded area, Robin Hood Hills. That dirt field East of the woods. There's a culvert that goes from the service road up along the tree line. Anyone could have driven up there and dumped the bodies in the creek, but the police never tried to find out any more about it. They were too quick to say that the murders were committed by a devil worshipper cult.I don't believe that anyone should be convicted of murder that they didn't do whether it's my son or not my son. I've talked to people who believe these boys are guilty, and they just don't have any evidence to support what they're saying. It seems to me that if they really cared about the truth they would listen to reason and see that there just wasn't enough to put these three in prison.I want to know who murdered my son, and I want to know that they will be caught and punished for what they did. I don't want three innocent people to suffer for something they didn't do.
- Rick Murray, May 2000
Thank you from Lorri(Damien's Wife) and Damien Echols
Dear Friends and Supporters:Heres sending many, many thanks to those of you reading this note. It means you are interested in this case, and thats what were trying to do, raise interest and awareness. It also means you may be willing to donate to the defense, which would be a huge help to us. Were currently getting important work done in the fields of pathology, forensics and investigation, thanks to many of you, but we have a lot of work to do.Damiens is the only case being reviewed in state and federal court at present, but donated funds are going to the efforts to appeal Jason and Jessies cases as well. All three cases benefit directly from the defense fund.We are currently awaiting results from DNA testing, which is a lengthy process. Progress is being made, however, and defense funds will also help in completing that work. Its amazing how much support we receive from around the world, and we are grateful. Not a day goes by that Damien and I arent touched by someones note of kindness, or the feeling that we arent alone in our fight for justice. Thanks to all of you out there, for your letters, your generosity, your thoughts - your support. We wouldnt be where we are now without your help. Most sincerely, Lorri Davis

Almost Home
Almost Home is a message to you from a faraway place. It is a message from a 12-foot by 9-foot cell in a cinderblock building surrounded by coils of razor wire in the middle of a dirt field in Arkansas. It was written by a young man named Damien Echols and it chronicles his life and his experiences in a way that clearly illuminates him, not as a monster, but as a human being. For over 10 years Damien has been an inmate on death row for a crime he did not commit. He, along with Jason Baldwin and Jessie Misskelley have become known as The West Memphis Three, and though the story of their arrest and conviction is widely known, most people don€™t know the real people behind the sound bites and the TV news segment clips. Damien has spent much of his time behind bars diligently maintaining his integrity and his sanity by writing.
Almost Home is the product of that self-discipline, and in it you will meet someone who has survived an ordeal many of us would find impossible to live through. There are a few who still believe that Damien is a devil-worshipping child killer, but as time passes and more facts rise to the surface, it becomes even more clear that he is the victim of a peculiar species of hysteria. Read this book and know the truth about him. It is an urgent message from death row; the whole story of who Damien Echols really is.
