About Me

Hip-Hop has always been a gateway for most of the emotions that I have experienced in my lifetime. Now dont get me wrong Im not a machine or anything programmed to eat, drink, and crap rap; I choose to! The largest influence I had to convert over to the world of rap was my friends and their lifestyles. Nightlife converted from watching "Roseanne" and "The Wonder Years", to getting blazed up and freestyling until the sun came up. It was a renaissance and I just couldnt get enough of it. Everywhere I went I was bumping tunes (lyrics or instrumental). I loved listening to the bass in Bigs voice, the flow of Nas, and the ideas of Blackthought. While my friends were listening to the beat, I was compelled to hear the context and try to see what they had to say. A lot of it led to curiosity because of my own background, but I was fascinated with everything they had to say. So when I started rhyming, I just wanted to sound like those MCs, and was totally naïve to what it meant to rhyme. Yeah I could rhyme til the cows came home but people only enjoyed the sound of my voice, and no one would compliment what I was saying. Then I met an individual that changed my entire life, his name was Dave Elliot, he was a student at Elizabeth City State University. Now, his skills werent anything to brag about but his energy and determination to "make it" poured from his soul onto every person he blessed with his presence. The advice that he gave to me was to write, and not write more, but write every day. Every day God introduces new things to us and to not keep an account of our daily bread is foolish. From then on I have, and will, continue to keep a track of what I face in life and this will be the generator of all my work. This is who I am and this is what I have to offer to the world. The trials and tribulations that I face are real and in order to survive I must stay true to myself and do whatever it takes to be fruitful. Only an idiot would say rap hasnt changed, but only a simpleton could say its lost its flavor. I feel that this genre of music is unique in a way that older generations refuse to understand and that the younger just cant. My generation grew up with rap when we were born, and we've seen it bloom from a curbside past time to a billion dollar jewel sported and protected by the pioneers which conquered any adversity it faced. So I know that most of these "fathers of rap" will be hesitant to give a nobody like me a chance, but all I ask is that you see me as an artist that just hasnt had the opportunity to show off his stuff! My background is rudimentary, an all-American boy actually, well by todays version anyway. I come from a single-parent family of three, a military brat whose walked on soil from Japan, Hawaii, California, Virginia, and North Kakalak. My past time was chiefly playing sports, listen to music, and love my friends and family. This was the gameplan until 97 and then I metamorphosed over to what I like to call, TENACIOUS!
