I finished the Lake Minnetonka Half Marathon! 2:11:29!!!!

About Me

I strive to develop myself physically, spiritually, and intellectually: Ph.D. student in educational psychology at the University of Minnesota, training for the twin cities marathon in october, working on regular conscious contact with God, like to indulge my inner child with things like veggie tales and petting zoos to keep my overachieving nature in check, health conscious, run on coffee and omega-3s, doting auntie to the two most beautiful and adorable little girls in the world, Tori and Gracie, enjoy learning, Christian, liberal, house, m.d. addict, spend entirely too much time online, did I mention how cute my nieces are? Here's some pictures of me and them, plus my friends:Here's my pictures from my recent trip to Portland to visit my friend Eris:Get your layout at Profile AvePink and Lavendar party at Joe's

My Interests

reading/studying, reading and writing academic papers about reading and studying, drinking coffee, spending lots of time online (thank you myspace), knitting, avoiding statistics, self actualizing one day at a time. I've also been getting into baking again, learning to accept recipes as they are, not how I want them to be.

I'd like to meet:

old friends, new friends, and Agent Reid from Criminal Minds. I know he's fictional, but I think I may be in love with him.

Music:

itunes!

Movies:

My Life without Me, Sherry Baby, Little Miss Sunshine, Blood Diamond, Dopamine, Maria Full of Grace, Beautiful Mind, Thank You for Smoking, Proof

Television:

six feet under (sadly, after season five, everything does end), house, m.d., medium, desperate housewives, nip/tuck and criminal minds (why doesn't netflix carry these dvds!)

Books:

books by essayists like Sederis, Burroughs, Bryson, and Slater, What's the Matter with Kansas and other liberal rants at conservative movement, Freakeconomics, lots of psych theory reads, Devil's in the Details by Jennifer Traig, Man's Ultimate Search for Meaning by Victor Frankl

Heroes:

teachers, social workers and other do gooders who can actually stomach the bureaucracy involved in making the world a better place. And Victor Frankl, anyone who can see the good in the world after surviving the holocaust is definitely my hero.
