my favorite new thing to say when someone asks me what sort of music i like is: "i listen mostly to music i can see live, especially in intimate settings." corny, but pretty much sums up my musical interests the last 5 years or so...
i recently remember watching: No Direction Home, Don't Look Back, The Squid Vs. The Whale, Kicking & Screaming, Lifeforce, The Abyss, Weapons Of Mass Deception, Why We Fight, Battleground, August In The Empire State...
i don't have a TV but when i do find one and am in the mood , i seek out these programs/channels: the daily show, C-SPAN, charlie rose show, meet the press, face the nation, family guy, American Movie Classics, Discovery Channel.
on the radio and web: democracy now!, C-SPAN, air america radio, KUGS, KBCS, chomsky audio archives...
off the top of my head: Robert Anton Wilson, HP Lovecraft, Amy Goodman, Milan Kundera, Neil Stephenson (Snowcrash)...
i read these rags: left turn, the nation, the progressive, ISR, the economist, vanity fair, the stranger, whats up!, bellingham weekly and a few others.
1) my mother and my father.
2) the Quiet Bright Lights who give their whole lives.
3) those thrust up the golden escalotor who refuse to be compromised and shout against the false heights.
4) the water spiders.
