Asta M. moved to
Ireland from Lithuania after band
AIRIJA , they were in
and recorded 5 albums since 1992, disbanded.
Soon, the two were joined by bassist Widma G. and started touring
Ireland, Germany and Lithuania to much popular acclaim.
Still being in band Airija, Nojus recorded two acoustic solo albums
"Name" (1998) and "East" (2000).
In 2002 and 2006 respectively, albums "Save" and "Forever" were released
in Lithuania.
Latest acoustic compilation album "Archive" was released in september
2007, which is followed by unplugged live video concert release due in April,
2008.
The band carries its name by singers nickname Nojus, which means Noah in
Lithuanian.
Nojus music style varies from acoustic bard music to folk rock with
strong Irish and Baltic folklore influence. Lyrics and strong melody are key
features of Nojus songs. Lyrical side of music represents moody reality of life
and hope for the better day.

be helpful to someone. Besides, everyone wants to immortalize himself - to make
a stroke on the Stone of Life. We do not seek everlasting life, we want to give
a sense to what we are doing... There is such a little and great wish that
people come to our concerts, understand us, and be sincere like we are."
My short autobiography "Saving myself rather than the
world..."
I was born in Lithuania town Alytus, spend my youth swimming and wondering what is this world about. At the age of 16 I started playing guitar, discovered sincere music of Dire Straits, tender roughness of Metallica and musical variation of Saxon and Iron Maiden. Later I was blown away by The Cure, U2, Pearl Jam, The Levellers and numerous other artists including Russian rock giants Aquarium, Kino, DDT, Chaif, Splean, V.Visockij. And everywhere I went I had my guitar with me, started writing lyrics and music, chose artist name NOJUS, which means Noah in Lithuanian, and started saving myself rather than world.
I recorded my first underground album "Memento Mori" at my friends studio in 1990, joined band VYNAS (Wine) in 1991 and had my first taste of success.
Then in september 1992 me and bass player Koka started a new band AIRIJA and rock..n..rolled all over Lithuania till year 2000. We released 5 albums, It was an amazing time and awesome experience.
In 2001 I left for Ireland. Since the year 1992, when we named our band AIRIJA, which means Ireland in Lithuanian, I was fascinated by celts and the music from Irish shores. Chieftains, The Pogues, Seanead O..Connor, U2, Therapy?, The Dubliners, all of these artists influenced me, so I came to see where is the music from.
Now I can hear, touch and feel the music, miss my homeland and keep saving myself rather than world.
