About me:
Due to recent questions, I'll add a real "About Me" ...
I'm a 19 year-old freshman at Illinois State University.
I plan on double majoring in Social Work & Spanish.
My interests include basketball, friends, being a "Big" for Big Brother Big Sister, Invisible Children, Texas Hold'em, foreign cultures, frisbee, music, thrifting, photography, rollerblading, reading, and obviously Belize.
That's about all I got!
We can't help everyone, but everyone can help someone.

Update: 9-18-06
It's been almost two months since we were in Belize.
I think about everything and everyone there everyday.
Hopefully everything works out again, so I can return in July of 2007
Thanks again for all the support.
♥ Jes
P.S. I have over 1,000 pictures, message me if you're interested.
Update: 7-31-06
Being home is very weird.
Our camp was successful.
We had soccer and volleyball.
We had arts & crafts and skits.
We had etiquette lessons.
Most importantly...
The love shared and relationships formed are indescribable.
The 19 of us that went have been e-mailing everyone back
and forth for the past day and none of us can
put in to words what this trip meant to us.
Thank you again for all the support, prayers and donations!!
On the last day, one of us wrote a poem to read at the closing ceremony.
It’s a Belizean Love By: Bethany Michelle Powers
We were so excited to come to Belize
Anticipating the moment we’d meet
Our time with you was amazing
Our trip was short and sweet
Experiencing new people and cultures
Helped us to understand
That although the differences may seem endless
We can still find comfort in a foreign land
We appreciate you hospitality
And love your chicken, rice, and beans
The smiles, the laughs, the hugs,
You don’t know how much it really means
You were so gracious to us
As we made mistakes here and there
Sorry for not putting enough sugar in the juice
And thank you for plotting our hair
We learned so much from you
And we hope you learned something from us
Some of us may not be able to handle the bugs,
But you put up with our fuss
The children here we’ve grown to love
And the Belizean leaders our new friends
I hate to accept the fact
That this week has come to an end
But no matter the circumstance
If you ever feel alone
Remember that you made a bunch of crazy Americans
Feel welcome in a new home
