Roads .... where we're going; we don't need roads!

About Me

While Edgar is recording his solo project he will be showcasing material from past projects beginning with "Caller Nine", which Edgar played drums for during 2004!

Edgar Diaz has always followed a path that has included music. On stage ... in the studio ... in front of an audience and behind the board ... and on the internet! In his 12yr musical journey Edgar has performed in a variety of groups and genres. Which in turn has had him play some of todays brightest musicians. Whether on tour with international artist Vinx, Harp Guitarist Dan LaVoie or Australia’s own Xavier Rudd, Edgar seems to always mold to any genre of music with his Djembe and connects with his audience and leaves them speechless everytime he gets on stage.
In 1997 Edgar stumbled across a group of musicians who would later help put him on the correct path. This group eventually becomes known as Ride, which included Dan O’Dea and Dan LaVoie and Edgar Diaz. The year 2000 was the turning point when Edgar Diaz and Dan LaVoie began searching for their influences. Edgar then began playing with Dan O’Dea and Dan Lavoie for a second time in Karsey Street at the start of 2002. After disbanding that same year Edgar and the two Dans decided to begin their own trio sans extra musicians which led to the formation of the award winning group BEYOND which is still going strong in 2006. In between the years, Edgar has played with groups Caller Nine, Water, One Day’s Pay and performed at such venues including The Bowery Ballroom (NYC),Joe’s Pub(NYC),The Blue Note (NYC), Sweet Rhythm (NYC), The Knitting Factory (NYC), TLA (Phil.), The Tin Angel (Phil.), Zanzibar Blue (Phil.), Grape Street (Phil.) The Stone Pony (NJ), Maxwell’s (NJ), Live at the Lounge (LA), Nashville Convention Center (Tenn.), Grand Ole Opry Convention Center (Tenn), bars, lounges and coffee houses throughout the tri-state area.
2008 has Edgar continuing his best years musically to date. Edgar continues to tour and play with international recording artist and producer VINX .The Vinx trio has just completed a tour of Europe. The Acoustic Jazz/Folk group Beyond will be performing again in 2008. Edgar is working diligently on his solo CD to be released in summer of 2008. Harp Guitarist Dan Lavoie has Edgar performing with him and will be on his second release. He has begun the reopening of his production company/ record label CON417 Productions. CON417 has website design projects which are in their development stage. Edgar Diaz is a rare artist who’s heart and passion come through loud and clear through the rhythms of his Djembe.
