What's the Real Deal? On March 2, 2007, The CRB approved royalty rates that will bury any small webcaster, and create a heavy burden even for big broadcasters like Yahoo, AOL Music and Pandora. How high will these rates be? Around 100% of a small webcasters revenue, give or take a few points, in most cases. What?! That's impossible to pay! Yep, it sure is.. How did this happen? The RIAA told the CRB thats what they wanted, and the CRB just gave it to them. Your're probably thinking, hey that's awful, but who are the the RIAA and CRB?
RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) is a lobbying group formed by the five largest record labels. They are embedded in Washington D.C. They make sure laws are written to keep them rich, no matter what. They made headlines a few years ago opening lawsuits against elderly people, single mothers and children for trading music online, even though some of them didn't even have computers.
The CRB (Copyright Royalty Board) is part of the US Copyright Office. The Board is charged with determining the royalty rates that would be determined by a willing buyer and a willing seller in a marketplace transaction. They decided to jack the rates beyond a broadcasters means despite decades of royalty rates being 1 - 2% of broadcaster revenue. Raise your right hand if you want to take away consumer choice, hurt working artists, damage small record labels and put small webcasters out of business.

DJ Stan The Man brings to you monster mixes with high energy and a variety of remixes. Being raised on the rhythm of old school, R&B, Jazz and hip hop, DJ Stan the Man is a show stopper. DJ Stan the Man has developed and enhanced his skills on the wheels of steel over the past 20 twenty years.

Being one of the hottest Dj's in the area, DJ Stan the Man can be heard at various local clubs like The Red Room, The Bad Apple, Buckeye Elks Lodge ..73, Club 504 (Columbus, Ohio), Metropolis Night Club (Cleveland, Ohio), Peaberry's (YSU), Owings Bar & Grill (Weirton, WV.), The Judge Roy Bean and The Suns Of Boriquen (Spanish Clubs).

Born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio is where he began his love for music. At that point in time Parliament/Funkadelic was the preferred choice of music in the streets of Youngstown. In fact, as a musician,(Percussionist/Drummer) he has played with the likes of George Clinton, and The Ohio Players, The We Funk All Stars, and The Mighty Generation Band. He also played with a heavy metal band out of Akron, Ohio called Grimace and also My Brother’s Keeper. His versatility eventually got him back into mixing and scratching after his good friend Donald (Maggot Brain) Doward of the We Funk All-Stars died and playing with any other band just did not seem like the thing to do.

His love for music and fascination for mixing led him back to the club scene where all the local Dj's spinned and for a time he appeared on 102 Jamz WRBP 101.9 FM in Youngstown, Ohio. His creative ear for music makes him one of the best DJ’s in the Midwest.

On the rise and destine for “A” list status, Dj Stan The Man has ripped shows for several celebrities including, The Youngbloodz, Baby Bash, Juvenile, Lil' Scrappy, Trillville, Ray Cash, Lil' Jon & East Side Boyz, Jim Jones, Ying Yang Twins, Dem Franchise Boyz and soon many, many more.

Cloud 9. 1299 West Ninth St., Cleveland. 216-363-1113. The opening of this swank pad marked the transformation of the Warehouse District into a village of lounges. Cloud 9 is the sleekest of the lot.

806 Wine & Martini Bar. 806 Literary Road, Cleveland (Tremont), 216-696-4806. Watch it, you're tantalizingly close to Lolita ... Bistro, that is. This posh watering hole has a new drink menu (and management).

Hamilton's Martini Bar. 1415 Euclid Ave., Cleveland. 216-241-7721. Swanky is as swanky does, and it doesn't get swankier than this in Northeast Ohio. Noel Coward would be right at home.

Sage Bistro. 2391 West 11th St., Cleveland (Tremont). 216-861-3734. Though primarily a top-shelf restaurant, Sage has a "5 After 5" happy-hour deal during the week that delivers brimming, ice-cold 10-ounce vodka martinis to your table for $5.

Velvet Tango Room. 2095 Columbus Road, Cleveland (Ohio City). 216-241-8869. Owner/host Paulius Nasvytis tries to keep an air of mystery here, complete with no sign and a secret VIP back room, but it's drinks like the French 75 that will keep you coming back.
