About Me

Life's good... I've been preparing for grad school starting this Fall at Georgia Tech. I'm excited (and nervous given that I haven't been in school for seven years). Holly and I are enjoying life in Midtown, but we're getting ready for a time where my income will be less due to being in school and working less frequently. Fewer fancy dinners and vacations in our future.
Last year, I started commuting to work by Bike. It's been nearly a year of it now, and in that time, I've only had to fill a tank of gas in my or my girlfriends car a few times... 6 or so? Not really sure. But regardless, it rocks. I started riding a Raleigh single speed, flipped the hub to ride fixed after a month or two, and haven't turned back. While I admire all of the fixed riders who dodge cars, run lights, and don't wear a helmet, that's not me. I like the fixey for the simplicity of it, but I keep a front brake just in case someone else does something retarded. I wear a helmet for the same reason.
I've recently been working hard on my powers of self control by NOT going out to buy an iPhone right away. Those of you who know me well will know how much of an accomplishment that really is.
In other news, my band is all but done. I miss it and them. Hopefully, we'll be back some day. It seems Doug is continung to write, and the bits I've heard sound great. We just need to find the time to get together again.
The Atlanta humidity is really wearing on me. Every once and again, the urge to flee to the Northwest wells up in me. I guess I really ought to visit there first...

Wow!

So, a short, unscientific inventory of my friends list reveals that I consider about 60 of the 98 people on there to be "real" influences on my life, or legitimate friends. That's not limited to thos...
