About Me
The name DEECHEE DAN is quickly becoming known as one of the South's most anticipated artist. And DEECHEE DAN plans on remaining so throughout the his musical career. He decided to put a hold to his own 'artistic' dreams and launch his own record label: Kant Stop Records and NC Hip Hop group FAM1st.Even if DEECHEE never scores any national hits or quickly storm up the Billboard charts, no one can question his clout throughout the South. He essentially defined what it meant to be a Southern thug rapper years before anyone even coined the term Dirty South. Starting his career in the mid 90's, DEECHEE never crossed over and always remained aligned to the streets, his influence never waned, making him one of the few veterans able to sustain in the here-today, gone-tomorrow rap game."I've worked and grinded for years to keep the team alive." DEECHEE DAN reflects, "You have to realize, North Carolina has alot of artist doing their share. They grinding real hard right now, and my goal is to KEEP the grind hard...keep pushing the envelope of creativity." Indeed, complimenting his rhyming abilities are his skills as a businessman and entrepreneur. Once he got his taste for the rap game, he set out and created his own record label, Kant Stop Records in 2004, which would release music by his crew Fam1st. DEECHEE DAN used his expertise selling mixtapes and hustling to quickly master all the finer points of the music business finding talent, manufacturing, distribution, and establishing a successful venture. "It was real tricky, especially if you've never done anything like that before," admits DEECHEE. "But if you have something you know people want, you learn real fast. I figured out the hustle from the real early. And my whole dream about being in the music business wasn't to be a rapper alone. It was always to be a CEO of my own company, because really, if you ask me, I'm a background kind of cat. I don't like to be out front all the time."DEECHEE used his entrepreneurial spirit and continues to thrive. Fam 1st will release their second album release, and 5th mixtape release later this year. In addition, DEECHEE DAN has extended his busssineess-sense beyond the music industry. He has partnered with a Video and Film Company, Kant Stop Kennels, Kant Stop Radio, and two clothing stores in the North Carolina area. He also has aspirations to soon own a car dealership and commercial real estate. "Once you get your money," he says, "you gotta keep gettin' your money."DEECHEE DAN got a few more surprises in the bag that he can't let out just yet, but just know that he is here to release a series of classic albums so that finally his team and "FAM" can garner the respect they rightly deserve.Jason Birchmeier, All Music Guide
