About Me

Who Should Paint You: Roy Lichtenstein
Larger than life, your personality overshadows everyone in the room
A painter would tend to portray you with a bit of added flair! What Artist Should Paint Your Portrait?
So, WHOAMI?
I'm in my early thirties, but I still get carded.
I have long hair, but I'm not an avid fan of metal.
I am politically conservative - both fiscally and morally, but I am not Republican.
I live well, but I'm not materialistic.
I like Lichtenstein because he's a pop-artist with a comic-book flair.
Despite my looks, I don't do drugs.
I read alot, usually just to make myself look smarter.
The only things that I can remember vividly are the truly esoteric.
I tend to quote for sheer vanity.
I'm much more pretentious than I'd like to be.
I choose larger words in everyday conversation because I often have difficulty finding smaller ones.
People often try to talk down to me by speaking in "Dude," just to find out they can't keep up with me in a conversation.
Even though I'm Christian, I'm more comfortable around the stranger elements of society.
I consider CCM to be a musical pariah.
I tend to know more about the Bible than most pastors - and that makes me sad.
If I lost everything, I'd miss none of it.
If there's a verse in the Bible written about me, it's I Cor 1:27 - because I'm just that foolish and weak.
2 Cor 11:30. Let this be my boasting.
And, if you're looking to spam me, save yourself some time and spam this page - I forward all my spam here anyways. I won't add you unless you send me a message or I know you. So, don't send me your porn sites, your webcams or other nonsense - I don't want it.

My Interests

Wide and varied

I'd like to meet:

the $10,000,000 check from Publisher's Clearinghouse.

Otherwise, someone who can think for himself/herself is nice as diversity of opinion is always chic. After all, trends are never set by the followers, and paradigm shifts never occur for the close-minded. Besides, if I wanted to listen to nothing but like-minded folk, I'd listen to myself speak.

In other words, if you have an epiphany, please share.

Music:

ABC, Aphex Twin, Arcade Fire, Beastie Boys, Beta Band, Bjork, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Bloc Party, The Bravery, Johnny Cash, Chemical Brothers, Curve, Dandy Warhols, Devo, Duane Eddy, Franz Ferdinand, Gang Starr, Andy Hunter, Hooverphonic, Human League, Jars of Clay, Jurassic 5, Kasabian, The Killers, Ladytron, Luscious Jackson, Lush, Massive Attack, Metric, Moby, New Order, Oingo Boingo, Orbital, Outkast, Primal Scream, Portishead, Prefuse 73, Ride, Roxy Music, Smashing Pumpkins, U2, VAST, Stevie Wonder, World Party, Clan of Xymox, and just about any indie band that has self-destructed - or will self destruct - before getting big.

Here's what I'm listening to now.

Television:

South Park, Simpsons, Twilight Zone, Kids in the Hall, Family Guy

Books:

The Bible, works by Alan Moore, works by CS Lewis, bunch of pseudepigrapha and mythology, works by John Locke, works by TS Eliot, programming books

Heroes:

Apparently, it's Chuckie B. I think; therefore, YHWH!

My Blog

The Shallow Prick himself is back to blog...

I would like to begin by saying that the quote of the day comes from Amber, who says "religious reasons prevent me from plucking my gray hair."  Actually, I said it considering that: The si...

Hey, everybody! The shallow prick has something to say...

Let me begin by saying that, for those who don't associate with a certain clique, someone called me a shallow prick a while back on her blog, but I only found about it a few weeks ago. ...

"Don't cry for me! I'm already dead!"

For some reason, that line is pure beauty considering the context of the origin.  And, right now, I'm curious if anyone knows the first source.  As some of you already know, I quit my job.&n...

Greatest breakup song ever...

A co-worker last night was telling me that he found the greatest breakup song, by an artist called Iman (not David Bowie's wife).  The song was alright, but it definitely lacked the panache of ...

I came across this blog here today.  As a self-confessed neocon, I feel compelled to refute some of these misnomers inline.  Granted he's speaking about Republicans (and I have absolute...
