Who's House? Jay's House!

About Me

What do you get when you cross a hyperactive idiot man-child with a twichy ADHD monkey? You get something that is both loathsome and lovable at the same time....

My Interests

Geeky things, nerdy things, anime things, alcoholic things, HD things, computery things, animated things, busty things, wireless things, hacked things, banned things, tenacious things, askew things, uncomplicated things, modified things, pretty things, Japanese things, Irish things, hexadecimal things... Oh! and chicken wings!

I'd like to meet:

Kim Deal. Alton Brown. Samantha Brown. The Brothers Creegan. The Brothers Parks. The Brothers Chaps. TMBG. Someone that is 'my kind of crazy'.

Music:

Got a wide variety of stuff I listen to. Barenaked Ladies and the Pixies leading my all time favorites. In no order: Rasputina, The Dresdon Dolls, The Murmurs, Weird Al!, Run DMC, Juliana Hatfield, Tanya Donnely, Flight of the Conchords, Madness, Feist, Fiona Apple, Queen, Five Iron Frenzy, Brave Saint Saturn, Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, David Bowie, Etta James, Frank Sinatra, They Might Be Giants, Weezer, AC/DC, Regina Spektor, Bjork and even a little J-Pop like Puffy AmiYumi and Shonen Knife. I pretty much like it all. Except ScrEmo. You can keep that all to yourself.

Movies:

I am a movie buff. I enjoy the escapism and the experience of a film. Action, Drama, Childrens, Animation (there is a difference from Childrens) Comedy, Musical, Documentary.... you name the genre, I'll like it.

Television:

Mythbusters, Dirty Jobs, Good Eats, Supernatural, How It's Made and House. UPDATE: The wife got me watching Gray's Anatomy and damned if Calie isn't a complete hotty. What was George thinking?

Books:

To list the books I like would be akin to listing 2/3 of the Library of Congress. I read a wide variety and if it's of concern, I am currently reading Anansi Boys by some hack named Neil Gaiman.

Heroes:

My dad is a hero. And Superman. And to a much lesser extent that guy that could turn into a bucket of water from the JLA.

Im elated..... again..... for the eighty-fifth time....

Any Sci-Fi nerd worth his spice has read, or has at least a passing knowledge of Orson Scott Card's super fantastic Ender series, starting with Ender's Game. What, in my opinion, eventually dries up i...

(S)mash her face in

Working a crossword, relaxing before work, got the telly on. Rachael Ray is on, 30 Minute Meals, following her standard quick dish that she jazzes up with goofy words and over-enthusiasum. Her potatoe...

Jolly Molly and the Terrible Folly

I've been here at work, drawing on scrap paper a children's story, for  a good hour. The artwork is horrible, the characters are uninspired and it could hardly be called a story at all. Suffice t...

Galaxy O’ Hurt

So, I'm sitting there, looking around the OR, wearing my blue surgical hat, my gray no-slip socks and a dress that was very much not Prada or Kim Wong. I answer the surgeon's assistant's q...
