At the age 8 my grandmother surprise me by taking me to Teatro Puerto Rico to see perform the legend Iris Chacon who I use to personate..LoL believe it or not.. With that experiance of my life, I was in love with the theater and ask my mom to give me permission to go to the shows so I can see all the spanish soap opra in person. The only way my mom would let me go if I find a way of making my own money, so I end up taking people's grocery's home, I made good cash..LoL..I pay my mom..LoL then I had a budget to pay all my expenses to spend in the theater. At the age of 9 the Late Mr. Ortiz, owner of the theater and promoter who bought all the artists in from all over the world and he bought them to the Bronx. He was puzzle by a young lady going to all his functions during one of his event he call me to the side and ask me if I was with someone in the theater and I said no.. I am here all by myself. And I started telling him my life and that my mom is a single parent raising 4 kids and the only way she let me go here if I find my own money and I told him how I will get my money to go to see his show and all the artists he bought to the theater. That was the day I will never forget, he took my arm and said from now on you are our little theater baby girl.He direct me to all his staff and told them that from now on, I was given permission to go backstage and go anywhere in the theater, that I was his adopted daughter, you should a see my eyes open like you ever have seen them open. I was bless to be under the wing of the man who bought such artists as Jose Luis Rodriguez "El Puma" who I met alot of times..LoL, Lupita Ferrer, Jose Badilla, Chalytin, Jose Miguel Class "Yo Soy El Gallo", Walter Mecado and many others. I kept going to the theater until the age 15, when he sold all the theater and he stop promoting and bringing all these great actors and artists. I fell in love with the theater that save my life and found out that in one day I lost it all. No more save haven for me to go too and no more good times with everyone in the theater and Mr. Ortiz and with the superstars. Time pass and at the age 17 I moved to Puerto Rico and live and lasted only for a year. when I moved back to the Bronx. I became christian at the age 18, I started to promote christian artist and arrange concerts, and do fundraising as well. I have promote the best christian artist you can think of. Doris Machin was my idol and to this date I sing her music. I love to worship the lord and her music takes me there. I was honor to sing live on stage with her and sing my favorite Este Corito Es!! omg we fell under the blessings of the Lord. And in 1993, Back 2School Jam Block Party 2003 was born and still strong doing our every year event for the kids of the Soundview section of the Bronx. Plus take them to trips and hopefully have an after school program for them. Years has pass and ten years ago I came out in the life, I am a lesbian and started to promote clubs that best fit the LGBT community to go to especially the .. ladies so they can find safe places to meet. Though all these years of doing so many things in my life, I am an advocate / Activists for the young people on the Soundview section of the Bronx for 18 years, one thing lead to another I started the Stratford Community Services, Inc. with our every year event called The Back 2School Jam Block Party. I also former President/Founder/Chairwoman of Warrior4Luv.com "Warrior4Luv Productions, Inc. and President/Founder of the NYC LGBT Chamber of Commerce, Inc. & Senior Vice President/Co-founder of the Bronx Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Inc. I co-founded the Latino Hip Hop Summit, Soundview Community In Action, New Hope Community Outreach, the Bronx Christmas Parade and so many others I have help and develope their own organization. I was honor to meet her and interview her as well, I was bless as well to work and help promote the one and only Nina Martinez to do her CD press release party, not only once but twice. With all this say and done I have develope a great business relationship with media, newspaper, corporate, and business owners as well. As l have promoted for Vanessa Conde, La Bruja, Commando 13, Kervin Ceballo, and many others. I also promoted for Comedian as well, I was so bless to promote and work with Alba Sanchez and you can check her out at www.albasanchez.tv and Mr. Rick Najera, writer of Latinologues and you can check them out at www.latinologues.net, I am also responsible that they are bringing the show to the Bronx theater at Lehman College in June 2007. I love comedy and I will promote every comedy show I can. I love to laugh can you tell I am national high..LoL.. I know one thing for sure, I was born to be a leader to help those achieve their goals as I also achieve mine. I love what I do, that is why I am Warrior4Luv, one I am a fighter in a mist of a greedy world and 4Luv, you must love what you do, even if you don't get rich, the best thing in life, you live happy doing what you love most. Carmen Hernandez has helped empower at risk inner city kids. Through her efforts and a list of activities that specifically target youth, Carmen has proven herself a vital part of the South East Bronx community. Rev. Carmen Hernandez has coordinated Stratford Annual Back 2 School Jam Block Party for almost two decades and is President/Founder/Youth Community Pastor of, The Stratford Community Services, Inc. (Giving Kids/Youth a Chance). With that experience and lost faith in letting politics help our community, Carmen sought new avenues for Youth Empowerment.Rev. Carmen Hernandez slowly met and organized small business owners, persuading each that business and community must work as one family. Carmen carefully realized that the future of our community depended on a stronger business community and saw the need to empower small businesses. Six years ago Rev. Carmen Hernandez Co-founded and was the Former Senior Vice President of the Bronx Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Inc. And then went on to build as co founder, the Latin Hip Hop Summit at Lehman College, with Mr. Russell Simmons.
