B-Side Wins Again....

About Me

Born in Yokosuka, Japan...Spent the majority of life in/ around Washington D.C. with short stints in Scotland and various areas of the U.S. East Coast. Semi-permanently based in D.C., Happily married to the best lady ever, My Best friend and so much more...Debbie! I work at DJ HUT (D.C.'s Premier spot for DJ vinyl/ accessories) and many friday nights I can be found Dj'ing at Mien-Yu (in Georgetown), Jazz, Downtempo, Dub, House, Brazilian, African, Brokenbeat, NuJazz, D&B, & Soul. Started Dj'ing in 1990, Resident at Late Night Library in Tallahassee FL 1995-1997 under the monikor "Slo-Glo". 1999 co-founded 'Groovedistrict', DC's original Brokenbeat/ NuSounds crew. Groovedistrict (GD) hosted "Aromatic", DC's first weekly party dedicated to Brokenbeat, NuJazz, HouseNotHouse, etc.. "Trainspotting", a party of original & old tunes that had been widely sampled and/or covered. Most famous was GD's "ABSTRACT MOTION" held at DC's CLUB FIVE with Residents Dan Soda (who started & named the night!), John Johnson, & Dj Julius. ABMOT's guest roster boasts, Jazzanova, Koop, Jaymz Nylon, Bugz in the Attic (Mark Force & Daz-I-kue), Kyoto Jazz Massive, Tim 'Love' Lee, Agent 99, Ian Frost, DeRigueur, DJ Dub 63, Lars 'LB' Behrenroth, Herbert, & Kevin Yost.....to name a few. Big Big thanks and respect to all who've made and continue to make my life in music, possible & worthwhile. I also love getting tattooed (big-up Jinxproof in Georgetown) and new sneakers (mostly Adidas, but I don't discriminate as long as they come in size 14 and look fly).
