Oxygen is my friend.
Without her, you could say I just wouldn't be.
My song... our song, that you hear - it’s a relationship. Our conversation.
The air and my chest meeting at some half way point in my throat.
So, this is what I do. I write songs, and in turn they rewrite me.
I sing them.
I sometimes play them... or just play with them. The song needs to be played with; it has its own character and feel. Like plants, rabbits... they all need that arching fresh air to function.
Sound sweet sound, whether I'm up or down.
My brain brim-filled with widespread layers of songs, pushing out of my nose and each corner of my eyes.
I can't stop it. It's an all time flow, in close connection to both heart and mind.
Sometimes I have to travel far to look for that oxygen.
Life is all about going somewhere, learning, meeting new friends. Change of decisions, making new arrangements on the side of plans you thought you had already figured out.
Cornelia
The music has always accompanied her wherever she went; a quirky girl with a quirky life needs a soundtrack after all, and Cornelia's no exception to this rule.
Her early years were a hummingbird's journey through the flower garden of music; jazz, all form of electronica, show-tunes, pop, rock and even opera: the nectar that fed her youthful explorations.
She settled down long enough to start up the band Popshop where she spent the next five years developing her vocal and artistic talents.
With the release of 'How to Tango' (2002), Cornelia had attained a new-found confidence, and an exuberant energy gave her flight once more. Emerged from the chrysalis of youth with a new musical identity, she was finally introduced to the public as a solo artist during her appearances on Swedish television in 2004.
Cornelia has taken the next step in her journey, continuously blending her own style and energy with whatever life throws at her. A born traveller, Cornelia played various venues like Club Apollo Saal (Berlin), Sugar Factory (Amsterdam) and Debaser, Stockholm. In 2006 and 2007, she toured the Night Games album with Markus Enochsson (Sonar Kollektiv) and is now performing live with her band at venues in Europe and occasionally, the US.
Cornelias new EP 'Capsule' is available on , , ,
