i'd love to meet a fellow alien from my planet, someone as odd and unconventional as i am. anyone out there??? i'm watching the skis.
don't judge me by my music, but lately i've been liking Death Cab, Postal Service, Hellogoodbye, Dntel, various swing and jazz, Fleetwood Mac, Imogen Heap, Gorillaz, Scissor Sisters, Ultraviolet, the Creatures, the Faint, Gnarls Barkley, Skeewiff... it's a mixed bag. is it obvious i haven't found any new music in a while???
all the Pixars, most of the Terry Gilliams, many of the Disneys, all the Jean-Pierre Jeunets so far, French cinema in general, animation but not necessarily anime, some big blockbusters, no romantic comedies, and the occasional documentary. film is my escapism, so i tend to like to see things on the big screen that are impossible or improbable in real life (like Transformers, f**k yeah!), not realistic dramas showing everyday people...blech.
television sucks. cable is a zillion channels of crap, that's why i got rid of it. how come all the really good shows get canceled, like Carnivale, Farscape, Invader Zim or Futurama? and you have to wait a year to see Doctor Who on american television. i guess that's what bittorrent was invented for. well anything worth watching will be on dvd eventually anyway.
want to try something funny? call comcast and tell them you want to cancel your service. they won't get it. "you what...? you don't want cable? are you sure? the northwest gets dark and rainy during the winter you know, what are you going to do then?"
recently The Zombie Survival Guide, World War Z, Towing Jehovah, So This Is How the World Ends, His Dark Materials Trilogy
