I am still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up...

About Me

I am a creative individualist moving to Portland Oregon in late August!
I am originally from Venus - I enjoy sights, sounds, textures, things that stimulate the senses.
Opinionated - a bit,
Eccentric - perhaps,
Stubborn - at times,
Unorthodox - only on Sundays,
Adventurous - lets find some together,
Contemplative - usually,
Maledictive - evident,
Sensitive - admitted,
Unique - thank you.
I love photography, went to school for it. It is more of a hobby now, I don't have a studio or space right now for shooting much, but my new house will have a shooting area in the basement. I am available for profile photos etc. for those who want something new. Message me and we will talk!
I am sometimes cynical. I have a sense of humor, it's dry and sometimes off-beat, but people who understand me enjoy the laughter I bring them. I am not perfect, and don't expect people to be either - but I do strive for bettering myself, and get frustrated when I see people not trying, or settling for less. I wish for happiness everywhere but I do feel a sense of lost hope in humanity.
If your into astrology at all, here is my natal chart - I do have a grand trine in the air signs. A more detailed image of my natal chart is in my photo section.
Planetary positions:
Sun in Taurus
Moon in Libra
Mercury in Taurus
Venus in Gemini
Mars in Pisces
Jupiter in Aquarius
Saturn in Gemini
Uranus in Libra
Neptune in Sagittarius
Pluto in Libra
True Node Capricorn
I have been in many scenes over my life, enjoying the diverse people in each group. I have been friends with many punks, ravers, goths, rock-a-billys, metal heads, new wavers, and other unique and interesting people. My appearance is actually tame now compared to other times in my life! I guess you can say it is more refined and less experimental! I am slightly exhibitionistic, but not a lampshade-on-the-head kind of person. I understand others like myself who are very visually oriented. Am interested in other people who are the same, or interested in finding out what this means.
I have been with the same wonderful guy in a relationship for 8 years now, so I am not searching for love on the internet, I want friends and fun! Someone in a partnership with similar characteristics? A cool single guy wanting to be friends with a couple? Contact me! Double dates, serious friendships, meeting cool people and having fun - that's why I have this page.
If you have read this far, you should drop me a message! I am a nice person: and I am a creative and real person too! If I message you and say Hi, it's like me seeing you on the street and smiling, winking, or saying "Hello"!
My Polaroid blog - I spent 365 days taking a Polaroid photo everyday and posting it - I finished this year long art project in July 2007: http://www.apolaroidaday.com
My next project will be a coffee table book with the Polaroid photos from this project.

My Interests

photography, Polaroid, traveling, martinis & manhattans, German beers & trappist ales, vintage clothing & clothing design in general, 1960's & early 1970's muscle cars (especially Mopars), Disneyland, Mac computers, pinball, board games, interior design & furniture, oh, and cute bois too! Some bad boys are hot too, you know, muscles and tattoos!

I'd like to meet:

I enjoy the company of people who are not swimming in drama, people who have something to say about themselves and the world they live in, and who are not trying to be like everyone else. I don't identify with people looking for love in all the wrong places. I can tolerate a certain amount of OCD in a friend, but find that I limit my contact with that person. On the flip side: I like being around people who can talk and participate in conversations and ideas, and can involve themselves in the moments you are together. I like people who can be goofy and also be serious, but immaturity isn't that cool. I can talk to most people about most anything, and like people who are the same.

I appreciate people who can carry on in-depth conversations about arts, avante guarde interests and experiences. Sometimes deep conversations about weird and strange things, important life issues, sexy feelings or fluffy banter, they all have their place in this world. There is ample mediocrity in this mortal coil, so why strive to live within that limitation? I really identify with creative people, those who love design - both past and present, outgoing people, artists, people who can understand the complexities of the creative mind, and have patience in dealing with it. Us artists have so much to learn from eachother! We also need to network together and help eachother out, this world can be a struggle for our sensitive minds.

Would like to find people to bike ride with when it is nice out.(I usually go on a 10 mile ride 2 or 3 times a week when it's nice out!)
Would be fun to find other guys to go camping with, or hiking with this summer. People to be active with, go bowling, play pool, BBQ, play poker, enjoy summer! Open to new adventures and friends!

I am interested in finding some electronic musicians in Portland. I play around with music-making machinery, and have always wanted to meet others like me to see if it could be taken to another level. Or a guitarist who wants to add some riffs to some electro music. If you know of anyone I should talk to, drop me a message!

Music:

Current music I have in my rotation:

*Vitalic
*Robots in Disguise (the new album ROX!)
*Leiahdorus
*Soviet
*Plastiq Musiq compilations
*GD Luxxe
*Linus Loves
*Anyone who knows me, knows I own everything from Siouxsie & the Banshees

I generally like synth-pop, electronic & dance music, and can't forget about the 80's new wave! I hate rap music.
*My friends in Heartbreak USA (check my friends to find their profile) play some fun toe-tappin', skirt-twirlin' honky-tonk!
*I do have a wide eclectic array of music interests, as you can see.
I have listened to: new wave, punk, rave, industrial, rockabilly, electronic, acid house, house, pop, avante garde, expirimental, grunge, jazz, swing, and some country. There has got to be another genre or two I missed in there also.

Movies:

A few all time favs: Liquid Sky, Legend, Hairspray, Last Temptation of Christ, Alien trilogy, Matrix trilogy, The City of Lost Children, Brazil, The Serpent and the Rainbow, and other obscurities. Favorite directors are Jean Pierre Junet, John Waters, Ridley Scott, Clive Barker.

Television:

I do not watch a ton, and do not like regular television that much, but I do rent shows. I loved watching the series Carnivale from HBO, dowload and watch the new Doctor Who, and Will & Grace always give me a giggle to watch. My fav shows of all time include Twin Peaks, Classic Star Trek, Wonder Woman, Liquid Television, the Lucy Show, and Farscape. Cartoons are always a must on Saturday morning with breakfast, and some of my favs have been: Flintstones, Looney Tunes, Invader Zin, The Jetsons, The Superfriends, Powerpuff Girls. I also like Gilligans Island, I watched it after school everyday growing up.

Books:

I secretly love looking at glamour magazines for the fashion photo layouts, especially European magazines! Now that I am a home owner, I am also getting into other magazines like Archetectural Digest, and Atomic Ranch. I own lots of vintage books on interior design and decorating.

Heroes:

Male superheros in tights!
